So I attempted (got to orbit rather) getting a group for 34 PoE,...immediately got kicked twice because my Gally isn't fully leveled.
Yea lame I know
Anyways it occured to me that popping a bubble and letting loose with 40 0lus rounds of Gally is pretty much cheesing if you think about it.
Now I'm not saying to stop at all, or bashing that strategy I'm simply saying that's no different than shoving Atheon off, or cheesing crota (however that was done not sure) or even the Templar on VOG hardmode.
That's literally the easiest most effective way in all of those situations.
I just think it's funny that people got incredibly frustrated over people cheesing when all they do now is shoot the boss with Gally.
Same thing right?
Edit 1: I think it's necesarry to define what Cheesing is; Manipulation of mechanics, but playing by the systems rules. Aka Pushing Atheon off. Cheesing can also be considered taking the easiest, simplistic and quickest way out of a situation.
Cheesing is not a glitch or exploit. Although loosely defined, an exploit does fit quite well for Atheon and Crota but exploit can be used in any situation in this game.
Edit 2: More than half of you can't even understand the post.
This is not a complaint, and if you don't understand the slang term Cheesing then don't respond. I'm sure most of you only heard of cheesing from this game and these forums.
I'm not an idiot for understanding the similarities between the two. sorry you can't.

1 ReplyGotta disagree with you, there's nothing wrong with using what's available to you to kill him quickly. No game mechanics are manipulated and no rules broken. If all three players have Ghallys should they not kill him quickly? That's makes no sense. Atheon and the templar were both pushed off the edge in an attempt to avoid the mechanics; relic, oracles, portals, templar teleporting etc but with Skolas you still have to kill him and them complete the mines. The gjallarhorn being the best weapon for the job does not make it cheesing IMO. BTW I have killed him on all three burns.

I'd say the definition of a cheese is to force glitches to happen (Pushing Atheon and lagging Crota). Not using the tools provided ingame to burn opponents down in seconds
-
No as you are useing what the game gives you
-
It's called being smart with what you have. If I use my Hunger over my Gally, I'll just be dumb. If I didn't have the Gally, then use the hunger. It's not cheesing, it's using what you have. We do the bubble tactic all the time. No matter what people say, you have your definition of cheese drilled in your head already. Nothings gonna change that but to say that being smart with your weapons and abilities is a cheese is rather naive.
-
Well, that's what you're supposes to do, shoot rockets when his shield is down. And bitch please, the first time I heard cheesing? Was on a pack of English extra strong mature cheddar.
-
4 RepliesJust saying the level 34 is almost impossible without. It
-
We beat skolas w/ 2 gallys and a HoC. I don't appreciate kicking someone bc they don't have a certain weapon.
-
I'm saying though, if you step into any major pve activity with your ghorn not fully leveled, that's a noob move. When you get a ghorn, you level that bitch right away.
-
Edited by soul43: 6/10/2015 5:57:13 AMYou're just shooting rockets that's not manipulating any game mechanics, it's called shooting your heavy weapon into the boss as fast as you can, you can do that to any enemy on any level, so every time you shoot a boss with gjallarhorn it's cheesing? Nope
-
Gally is cheese in weapon form #EasyGally
-
I have a gally and yep pretty much
-
If I even had Gally, I wouldn't use it. Why? Because I enjoy challenging myself. I honestly may even dismantle it... but that's just me. People just don't want a good challenge nowadays.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Isle_of_Adrian: 5/30/2015 3:25:46 AMDoesn't fit the definition of cheesing, Although, if you think something in the game can't be done without a gjally, you're a scrub.
-
If I could get a Gjallerhorn, I'd be so happy.
Yes, South Park reference. Well done.
It would be fully maxed as soon as possible, telemetries and PVE bounties across all characters and done.
-
It's not cheesing, but it's certainly the lamer way to do it. I don't have gally but managed to do it just fine once we got the hang of killing the eye.
-
Shut up Meg
-
-
It's not cheesing. Now the fire team leader yanking his ethernet cord when Crota kneels to keep him stuck kneeling, that was cheesing.
-
Cheese this cheese that cheese everything Cheese cheese cheese cheese, over here cheese that cheese look at cheese. Hey mom. Cheese cheese
STFU mine as well not use weapons or melee since its a cheese.

Cheese

Bye Cheese
-
Seeing as you don't manipulate mechanics, it's not a fkn cheese.
-
By your definition skolas is the biggest cheeser around. 1 hit kills. Using a scorch cannon with solar burn last week. He OHK you before the fight starts. The intended mechanics never started. He used the easiest method available to him.
-
Isnt pushing atheon off a glitch while ghorn is not?
-
9 RepliesCheesing has gone for exploiting glitches, to using a weapon... Just delete this post...
-
3 RepliesIt is. Ghorn crutch users will of course never admit it, though. They typically have no skill whatsoever. Have you seen them on stream or YouTube? All they do is fire at the ground and somehow wolfpacks hit target and it's dead. No skill at all.
-
This is a shooter right. You shoot the enemy, the enemy dies. How is that cheese?
-
If you do it without out one on your team gg
