Is using explosive rounds worth it? I know it takes some of the damage off of your main shot and spreads it out.

7 Repliesnoobs cant handle this blessing and think it lowers the precision and firefly damage lol
-
4 RepliesYes. With a full auto scout, with Firefly and explosive rounds. Money.
-
I love em
-
Takes away damage and ruins perks that require precision kills. Hate them
-
2 RepliesThey are bad, I'll use my 365 FateBringer as an example. With Field Scout, I do 1900+ crit damage. With Explosive Rounds, I do 1300+ crit damage and an extra 300 spread out to the body of an enemy. That's ~300 less damage total. IMO not worth it. The only time I'd recommend it is for a full auto Deadshot Luna + Firefly.

Michael Bay would have been proud. On the topic I use to get splash damage on pesky dregs and such that hide behind cover.
-
Good for pve for mobs things like that pvp you really dont want that
-
2 RepliesWho cares. You fire explosions.
-
Was using them in PoE 34 on fatebringer and it did seem to take out groups of 2 or more vex quicker. No data to back it up though. Used it to see if it would help bring down the detainment bubbles quicker. It didnt.
-
Thanks for all the feedback I don't actually use them I had a friend tell me they always ran explosive on everything when available. But like many of you have said it make a critical harder to hit which kind of negates my outlaw perk.
-
I love it!
-
Good in certain situations when enemies are hiding around corners.

I like them. Have a Badger CCL with explosive rounds. The rounds do a small amount of splash damage so they can hurt enemies even if they miss and hit a nearby wall or something. Good for hip firing at close range. I can finish off enemies with low health if they're behind cover just by shooting the ground next to them. Not positive, but I think they might count as grenades because I have a helmet with "grenade kills recharge super" and I see the recharge bar incrementing when I kill stuff.

Lame and useless

Edited by PureGewalt: 5/28/2015 4:22:39 PMits good on elemental weapons that are used on shields, explosive rounds give you +50 % damage on non precision hits like body/shield. shooting shielded knights and captains with an 300 fatebringer feels like using an 450 fatebringer.
-
1 ReplyWould only use if on an Auto Rifle. Lol.
-
It's okay for waves of Thrall and stuff like that, but otherwise I don's use it.
-
Not a fan. I prefer the critical damage from precision shots. Explosive rounds tend to negate those. Love firefly though.
-
Never liked it on a HC as it goes against the nature of what a HC is trying to do (be precise). Same goes for Scout Rifle. That said in PvP, anything that disorientates your opponent is a good thing, and maybe this is where explosive rounds shine best.
-
Depends. Not on fatebringer or anything else with outlaw.
-
The higher the impact, the larger the explosion. So really it all depends on the gun
-
Pvp it disorients them, on the receiving side all you see is a bright flash.
-
I think so yes
