And then you'd have people complaining about the level requirements for the optional matchmaking. They'll never be able to make everybody happy. I have no issue using the 3rd party sites to find people for teams. I think the optional matchmaking would cause more issues than good. Optional matchmaking would most likely bring the same results that the strike playlist brings. Trolls, idiots, and the quitters. People posting on the 3rd party sites usually have enough time on their hands to complete the task, they communicate, and they're generally decent people. Every once in a while you'll get that child that thinks he knows everything and constantly screams obscenities and they're replaced swiftly. Whatever floats your goat man. I'm just going with it.
And then you'd have people complaining about the level requirements for the optional matchmaking. They'll never be able to make everybody happy.
I absolutely love this argument that we should put up barriers to content for millions of players because some people would complain or some would afk. Who cares? I'd rather have access to content and have to mute or avoid a prick now and then, than never be able to run shit. It's not Bungie's job to protect us from ourselves. You've bought in too deeply to the governments Patriot Act mentality. Fear. Hate. Mistrust. Fear. Hate. Mistrust. That's the -blam!-ing message we're fed every Goddamn day by the government and media and you anti-matchmaking crowd are like hypnotized puppets spewing the same shit. Fear (there could be trolls!). Hate (I'm not carrying scrubs!). Mistrust (they could go afk at the boss!). I'm sorry and pardon my French, but f**k your rhetoric. I've never in Destiny come across a child that thinks he knows everything and constantly screams obscenities. That's Halo's rep being projected onto Destiny.

  • do you agree? the idea is to allow those inexperienced players the chance to finally see the full game, we of the Optional MM community are more than willing to help them achieve this and in doing so makes up the better gamers/people. personal experience my first run was on hard mode VOG with a group mixed 30 to 31 and I did not die, I did not have experience or raid gear but I did my best and was I shunned no because of 1 thing my Grimoire score.

  • Same here. My first raid was HM VoG at Atheon at level 31 with players I didn't know that I'd been in a IB match with one of and got an invite. We 5 manned it easily with at least 2 of us who'd never run.

  • I guess we've just had different experiences with the matchmaking that's currently in destiny. I'm assuming that yours have been more good than bad and mine the opposite. I'm all for improving the game as a whole. I just don't think Bungie will focus on the "optional" part of the optional matchmaking.

  • The problem is that this is a thread of community asking for optional matchmaking. So you're discrediting optional because you don't like mandatory. Makes perfect sense.

  • I got into a matchmade 28 the other day and got invited to a party after to run the 32. We all got on mics and one was a young kid who proceeded to say that he was in fact a squeaker. Now I'm guessing a large number of these "LFG only" posters would have left. The kid was funny as hell and we breezed through the 32 faster than the 28. I ended up adding them both because of in game matchmaking. I'm so tired of this argument that anyone who isn't using LFG is somehow below those who do.

  • ''those who don't use lfg/forums are inexperience and not suited for the end game content'' is a reply I got to one of my posts

Read every anti-matchmaking post and what is their common thread? Fear. Hate. Mistrust. It's the fabric of today's society. Not to take this all political, but it's the message put out by governments and media to create control. Fear. Hate. Mistrust. We're protecting you from you. It's the Patriot Act mentality and it is sickening. Let's restrict content (game) or civil rights (RL) for millions, because someone in the world might be bad. It's ludicrous. You can't go through life afraid of what might happen.
