What's the deal with auto rifles needing a buff??
Seriously my vindicator destroys in pve and pvp they are perfect for medium combat took out 4 incoming guardians on control defending my point with ease...

It seems you had the drop on them way before they saw you. Now take my experience pre-nerf with my Monte. I didn't need the drop. I just dropped them like a bad habit. I move alot when I shoot also. Post nerf. I stuffed the Monte in the vault. Finally got a Red Death and learned to use it. I hold my own with it. The Monte and others took a blow that crippled them to sand blowing in the wind. Now I have been taken out by people with AR's in the past couple months. They usually play secondary assault as clean up. Have yet seen one duel effectively and win the fight against a seasoned player.

1 ReplyAuto riffles have become inferior to most other weapons in PVP in my opinion, and most of the communities I would say as well. They honestly need to be buffed back to their original state because I am never seeing them be used anymore.

9 RepliesThey obviously still kill but almost anything can out shoot them. I love my auto rifles but they don't compare to pulse rifles or anything else for that matter. I've used my ascended suros in pve and against 32 lvl creatures and its literally like shooting water at them. Say what you want and run your mouth but they need something. The best combo in PvP I've found is a auto rifle with range finder hammer forged and persistence . my up for anything. Does 19 crit hits from anywhere on the map. I like it but 19? Strangers rifle does 27... Not even shadow price or suros do that much

2 RepliesThe point is that aside from my absolute love for Auto Rifles, they are simply outclassed by every Primary weapon type right now. HC hit like a truck and are easy to use with pacing, PR's have excellent accuracy and also hit hard, Scouts are head shot magnets, and the AR is... Well you'd be better off just using anything else right now.

The big problem is some of them do better than others...while ALL pulse rifles and Scout Rifles do far better than them. Really, there's no reason to use anything but pulse and scout rifles in Crucible anymore. In PVE they're alright...but again, Scout and Pulse do better (mostly because of what I like to call the Halo Effect; headshots get you kills and Scout and Pulse rifles deliver consistent headshots)

2 RepliesThey're still viable, but what auto rifles do, pulse rifles (the only comparable weapon type) can do it much better. Remember when pulse rifles sucked and auto rifles were king? Well, now, they've switched places.

Some sort of a PvP wizard? If you are literally a wizard, then that is bs for the rest of us.

So, if everyone had your rifle for all 3 characters, I could see your point. But since we are talking all ARs in general, most ARs possibly are not as good as your example, maybe we should give the other 99.9% ARs a buff so that they're not so insignificant that they're useless? What do you think? As for your spoiler, learn to use your environment. So, my AR sucks so bad I need to learn to use my environment to be effective with it... or.... just not use an AR. Good advice

They use to be more effective at longer range, this more important with the high ROF low impact autos. Also realize that not all autos were nerfed equally. Some received almost no nerf while others were nerfed so much that they can't kill a level 2 dreg with an entire magazine. That's why the calls for a buff.

I still prefer my Suros to Thorn. I've been trying Thorn for awhile and Suros just suits me better. I do better with it. I'm not going to be upset if they buff them mind. Every little helps :D

2 RepliesEvery scrub gets a lucky situation every once in awhile. I mean I guarantee that you havent gotten any other four pieces with an auto rifle other than the one described. And from what I hear you have a .6 KD. So clearly that auto rifle isnt doing a very good job for you. And also before you cry about how much of a crutch the Thorn and Last Word is, maybe you should understand crucible before you talk about whats a crutch and what isnt. Its no ones fault other than your own that you dont use these weapons. All weapons are available to each and every one of us,.I mean Xur sold a Last Word for idiots like yourself just recently. Maybe you should have picked one up :)

They said that auto rifles were the most used and the highest dps.(out of all primary weapons) They also said that the usage of pulse rifles was very low. What did they do? Well, instead of just buff pulse rifles in order to make them competitive , in addition they nerfed auto rifles badly. It was a non sense, that's why auto rifles need some love.
