Well we are hitting our max for Internet cables. We as a species are about to be using the Internet so heavily that our current cables can't handle it

because the companies are still using the 1940s copper telephone wires and huge video encodings instead of newer, smaller ones. in the US: they've been subsidized to lay down fiber optics cable in the US for Decades, they've been given hundreds of billions in tax payer money, and their customer's money. they've just been pocketing it and bankrolling politicians to let them do this.
