I feel like destiny is missing key elements to space travel game

We spend too much time fighting on the ground when there obviously should be battles in space and from space..... I feel like our enemies have more going for them then us. Wht cant the guardians have an orbital space station that we can fly around??? I mean it seems like we have no defense against an orbital strike storywise

  • What if.. we had a social space set on a space station? That would be awesome. I would like to see more things happen in space though. It would be so cool if we could pilot our ships and manually fly to the different planets.

    • The Traveller has some sort of shield to protect the last city. It's why the Twilight Gap is a mess but the Tower (and presumably, the city) is tidy. Until our enemies get access to the Traveller, we are safe from long range attacks. But I'd love for Ships to be used for something. An idea I had would be that we could upgrade our Ships with different Modifications. Such as Heavy Gauss Cannon, Hive Fazer, Cloaking Device, Energy Transfer Module Etc... The heavy Gauss Cannon can deal heavy damage to Large Targets such as Spider Tanks, Goliath Tanks, Drop ships and the such. It shouldn't kill them and be on a long cool down but imagine using it to stop a drop ship from dropping a single wave of reinforcements. The Hive Fazer would allow it to travel like the Hive Ships do. And could drop you off in a different, advantageous, location. Say, a sniper's ledge with a few ammo boxes or in the Phogoth or Sepkis Prime fight it could warp you to the ship which would then Faze in the open space behind the boss for some sniping. When the boss damages the ship, you are warped to safety and the ship retreats for repairs. Cloaking device can be used for fast travel while on patrol. You could go from the Ishtar Cliffs to the Ember Caves in about five seconds. Really useful for bounties! And the Energy Transfer Module could allow you to overcharge your Super for bonus damage/energy to your next super. Raid Ships and other hard to get ships have unique abilities that you cannot find on any other ship. Even just to help you on that particular raid. The VOG ship could have some control on Aetheon's Teleportation. So it could prevent you from ever being teleported or you will always be teleported. The CE ship could Faze in and shoot the Oversoul with to quickly kill it while you run away or do something else. To stop people from changing ships all the time, If you activate an ability, you are locked to that ship for six hours. Just my thoughts anyway. It'd take alot of work from Bungie but I'd love to see my beloved 'Old Rope to Heaven' fly over with Heavy Gauss Cannons and rain devastation down on a damaged Fallen Walker! So Cool!

    • With the exception of the Cabal, no one has the resources to maintain a space station. Humanity can barely support its one earth-bound city. Only the Awoken live in space.

      Hell or at least some air support. Fallen have Skiffs that grenade and blast you across the map, the Hive have their tomb ships that track you, and the Cabal rocket you to ashes, yet we have to stay grounded... We have pedestrian ships with cute blinking lights to let everyone know we are flying

    • I totally agree. Why is there no orbital space station thats flies around? And why is the only vehicles tiny one person mopeds? I want a giant battletank with mounted turrets and a huge cannon that can kill atheon in one shot. And why is there no melee weapons except in raids? What about light sabers? Or a handcannon with laser shots? So much fail Bungie!
