Bump, matchmaking makes evrrything a lot smoother. I have a few Destiny Crews ive banded together since launch, so getting to do things isnt much of a problem for me. I can however, see how for others its an issue. Sure we can send messages, or invites. We have a lately-implemented chat system, yeah. NOBODY uses it. But you should really hear the relief in a random's voice when they accept a party invite, like an abused child being given a hug for the first time; just stoked to be able to communicate, honestly. Destiny is a COMMUNITY game. If there's nobody you can play with, or talk to, what's the -blam!-ing point? And while we're on the subject, there needs to be a GAME CHAT. As in, it'd be cool to have a general chat, to be SOCIAL in a SOCIAL AREA. Opt-in just like team and fireteam chat. Naturally, there would be annoying people but Just include a mute option. We're doing everything you want bungie, giving you every damn penny. And iur community manager is just flippant to the point of being insulting. Do yourself a favor bungie, get a story and a new PR guy

 • From my other post on the subject:
Day one. Got out headset and put it on for the first time since Halo 3. Launched destiny, played the first mission and went to the Tower. Silence. Went to the Cosmodrome and saw other Guardians running around. In silence. Went into the Crucible and played a couple matches. Wtf? More silence even in PvP? In a Bungie game ?? Took off headset for the next 6 months.
Love your take on people getting into a group finally. A point I've been making too is that matchmaking would benefit the LFG crowd too. When say running a raid and someone loses internet, has to leave or just quits or gets kicked, wouldn't it be great to just queue for another person instead of "uh, let me call my buddy and see if he can run" 15 minutes later "my buddy can run, but he'll be about 10 minutes" 20 minutes later the buddy finally joins "oh crap, it won't let me in!" Did you already run it? "I thought that was last week, sorry guys" Someone want to post on LFG for another? <as everyone leave> Maybe that's an extreme example, but I guarantee it's happened. There's just no drawbacks I can see from optional matchmaking.

 • Just like last night, I am doing the 32 PoE with a couple of guardians from a tower invite. Everything is going fine but one guy leaves for whatever reason. Now we are a man short and start having issues. Instead of having the game just add someone in, it is just us. So what should we do. He can't send tower invites anymore we are in-game. Open up his laptop goto LFG, wait a long time and hope someone will join us?

 • Definitely a yes, not sure they can implement it.... But yes.... Learn from mmos bungie, they've only been about for the past 15 years after all.... Constructively speaking, get optional matchmaking sorted bungies
