Make Gjallahorn less essential, not necessarily nerf
You practically need the Gjallarhorn to complete things like level 34 and assumingly level 35 Prison of Elders (POE). Sometimes you are neglected or opted - out when it comes to doing POE or raids because of not having one. I understand wanting to keep Gjallarhorn as is but the least that could be done is making it less essential. You don't have to nerf it beyond belief or anything, just make it less essential. I mean do this by maybw bettering other weapons to make them as an option instead of Gjallarhorn, or adding new heavy weaponry that competes. Don't nerf it, just do whatever to make things not revolve around Gjallarhorn. Thanks

Big bosses will have a lot of health. Gally provides the strongest overall damage. So there's that

I completed 34 Poe with out a galli. Left it in the vault. Black hammer worked like a champ. One buddy used ice breaker and my other buddy stayed on the trash. 35 Poe with arc burn, the galli was as useless as tits on a nun. Galli does make things easier but not a requirement. There our players out their that beat that shit just as fast with out one.

Why not Just buff truth? It is exotic after all. Or maybe there could be an op wep for all slots. We've got gally, thorn and ice breaker. Why not raise suros, and all the rest so people aren't shunned for not having it?

1 ReplyCompleted 34 with 3 hunters. Took a few tries to get timing down. I don't have gjallarhorn. Upgraded HoC works pretty decent though.

No lie, I have not even with my own eyes, seen it drop for another player either. There needs to be an alternative or at least close alternative. Just did lvl34 PoE with 3 (34)hunters ... Did not complete, and the only way seems to be a team of all gjallys and a Titan bubble. I agree with making it less essential. All you hear with any fireteam is, "Hey, you got a gjallarhorn?" Lol, when it should be, "Hey you have a Ghally or this, or that, etc"

3 RepliesDoes not need a nerf or any type of adjustment. Xur does need to sell it this week. I am sick of people getting kicked from end game content. I have it. And I have been lucky enough to finish everything so far. I only got my gally 3 weeks ago. I have played since day 1 and did all end activities every week no problem. Crota was doable with HOC. Just enough on hard. But now .. POE Without checkpoints. And Multiple bosses in a single level game mode. It is all manageable with different load outs etc. But the game calls for this weapon at certain points. ""Bosses"" Xur sell the damm launcher like yesterday. No more guardians-people getting left behind. And if bungie feels real funky. Make other launchers a bit more exotic*

2 RepliesIt's not essential, the idiots in LFG are driving the requirement. I rarely equip my gally, only if I 2 man CE for fun so the sword bearrer doesn't have to fire a rocket. Other than that I have not faced a boss yet that cannot be taken down with other more readily available weapons.

1 ReplyIt isn't really essential. The perception that it [i]is[/i] is a problem, though. If a group mandates Gjallarhorns, you probably don't want to play with them anyway. The exclusion sucks, but there certainly are other options. For bosses with weak spots, for example, everyone using Black Hammer and Icebreaker, for instance, is far better than everyone using Gjallarhorn. In that instance, Gjallarhorn just screws everything up, since it makes bosses dance around. Atheon, for example, can go down before he even teleports anyone, if a whole team is sniping him in the tummy.

The expansion has only just been released. It's going to be hard. Wait until people are able to cheese it. Gally won't be essential then.

8 RepliesSo you acknowledge it's essential to beat parts of the game, and your solution is to make it a lesser gun. Makes sense? Nope. What you want is it to be available. For future reference, "nerf" and "toning it down a little" are interchangeable terms.

I can't get to 34 because of Gally... I agree it's stupid how ppl say u NEED 1 but I can't do 34 Poe because no one I play with has Gally n the boss is too hard

I hate when your looking to do an activity and people request for guardians with maxed gally is a must. That is so annoying. Why not challenge yourself and not use one at all. 3 gallys to complete a mission come on. I did poe lvl 34 at rank 32 with another 32 and 33. Took some patience, a lot of bubbles and revives but got it done. No gally!

Gjallarhorn is only as necessary as the public make it out to be. I have actually considered using other exotic weapons to prove a point, but my appreciation for the designer who made the weapon exceeds my logic.
