Not sure, but I think that the teleportation is designed to happen. It only happens in one spot on each map (that I've encountered thus far) and it always jumps to the same place. I think this is meant to A. Get players out of sticky situations. And/or B. To help players get behind waves of attacking enemies to flank them.

Bro. That has to be the dumbest thing I've heard. It's a glitch. It happens at random. It isn't helpful if you know what you are doing. I highly doubt teleporting me to the middle of the map while I'm defusing C as the last person alive is an intentional happening.

Edited by Wicked: 5/27/2015 12:31:23 PMLike I said, the only encounters I've had with it are in one place on each map. This 'glitch' or whatever it is, only happens in a specific place while you're performing a specific action. It's never RANDOMLY teleported me or any of my friends. It's honestly proved to be pretty handy. So to say 'if you know what you're doing' doesn't work because we know exactly what we're doing when we exploit it to jump across the map around a shitload of enemies to diffuse a mine of dump some jellyhorn into the boss. This has just been MY experience with it.
-
Except when it puts you right in front of a witch on arc burn and you die instantly.
-
Agreed lol. But they can be useful.
-
That is most definitely NOT what it does. Each time it's happened it's gotten somebody killed. It's should definitely NOT happen IMO.
-
Actually I'm pretty sure TELEPORTING you is exactly what it does. And it has helped me and my teams quite a bit once we got used to when and where they jump you. So instead of screaming that it's a glitch (which I'm not certain it is or is not) exploit it while we have it.
-
If it's supposed to happen... they should give you some sort of indication it will happen. We had someone get teleported right after he was rezzed. That makes no sense to me.
-
I'm reasonably sure it's purposely designed not to have an indicator. It's just one of those tricky spots that you find and figure out through trial and error. Personally, I like the way it is. For me and the people I play with they can be very convenient.
-
Edited by Shino: 5/27/2015 1:16:36 PMThen you are most definitely in the minority I would think. IMO There's nothing convenient about popping a bubble and then two people inside it getting ported out. Or getting ported right after you got rezzed when you're trying to get in a fight. I've only had it happen in the Hive arena... not sure if that's the only place it happens.... but if it isn't a bug, then it's a bad game design decision.
-
The only reason I've found it to be useful is because, in my personal experience with it, it only happens in a certain place while performing a specific action. I've never had it RANDOMLY port me or anyone I play with. If that is what's happening then I would agree that it's definitely a glitch.
-
And that makes sense. What is the specific action? Can you post an example vid showing you taking advantage of it? That would be of great interest to me.
-
I am but a derpy 360 user and I play relatively casually so I don't even know how to get video of my gameplay. The easiest way to explain it is, on the hive map, on the far left where there are stairs and platforms, if you hide behind the fallen crates near the wall at the far platform for a few seconds, it ports you about halfway across the map. Now don't get me wrong, this has happened and I've found myself surrounded, and promptly killed by various enemies. But more often than not when we do decide to use it, it helps.
-
Yes I know what you're talking about. We have had it happen there as well. We have also had it happen while standing in the middle of the platform. Yesterday, one of my fireteam members got ported while in the air trying to avoid Urrox's rage burn. Just really odd.

Thanks for your observations about the random nature of this teleportation effect !
-
See, with examples like that I can agree that it's a glitch. The reason I thought it wasn't is because it's only happened to me in very specific places.
