Guide to ToO (10 Tips On How To Win Games)

I have managed flawless on all of my characters with a different group each time so I feel like I'm capable of giving advice. If you don't wish to use it that's fine, but it's on offer if you want it! 1. Dedicate your best player as a leader. Everyone should be communicating and strategies can change depending on your opponents movements, but a leader should set out how to approach the fight initially. 2. Set zones (left, mid, right for simplicity) and use these when you communicate. 3. When you see opponents make sure your team is always aware of how many and where they have gone so you can reorganise. 4. You need to be well aware of how to push on a team. This is drastically important! When an opportunity arises you need to communicate with your team very very quickly on where you are and where to push up on aggressively. 5. If you get killed but you almost kill your opponent 1v1 you need to call it out and your team should be immediately pushing on that guy to get the kill. An even better example would be if you kill an opponent 1v1 and then his teammate pushes you and kills you but you get a hit on him. This is prime time for your team to push hard on this player leading to a 2v1 advantage. If you don't communicate and your team holds back because they just lost a teammate then the opponent restores his health and picks up his friend leading to a 3v2 disadvantage. This is exactly why pushing is so very crucial. 6. When you are killed you get a huge advantage... You get to see the player who killed you through walls! This gives you a great opportunity to get that player killed by your team if he is alone so communication is key. 7. Picking up a teammate is always better than chasing an opponent. The only exception I can think of is if your other teammate can pick him up whilst you chase. 8. The heavy round in my opinion is always unpredictable. I always find it best to push the other teams heavy if I have my super charged. If you don't want to push I heavily advise switching to a truth or gjallarhorn because most likely your primary won't even be used during this round. 9. Check out your opponents on the way into the game! This is crucial! You are looking to see what primaries and secondaries they have primarily... Are they shot gunners or snipers, do they have maxed weapons or new weapons? You also want to check their levels, are they lower and therefore at a slight disadvantage to you? Finally you definitely want to be aware of the class they are using and what sub class. 10. If you see a Titan in this game mode that is ideal for you. A bubble and a fist of havoc are not particularly scary. If advise using bubbles to pick up teammates and fist of havocs to end other players supers. A warlock sunsinger is by far the most dangerous! If you see one in the opposing team you need to always be watching bodies. I advise keeping a shotgun handy because they will cause you problems. Never melee them! A void walker is scary for the heavy ammo round, but otherwise it's not so bad. It's also a mistake to use seeing as sunsinger is so powerful in this game type. A hunter has two powerful and aggressive supers. Golden gun is definitely the better choice because it can't really be outrun. The way to combat them is listen carefully because you can definitely hear them be activated. Then it's all about communication! Much like I said earlier... If you get killed by one you can see them through walls! Make sure your teammates know where they are at all times and to stay away until the super runs out! Fist of havoc is ideally saved for this occasion. Bladedancers will go down fast if your team is together all firing at once so gunslinger is way more dangerous to you. If you find these helpful please like and bump this post so it can trend for others too see!

  • I think you just wrote down everything I did on the trials. Knowing when to fall back and when to be aggressive is to me the most important part. Master that and you have this game mode in the bag.

    • Nice post! definitely gonna try this next time! Also, I would add something about the grenades, like the best ones to use and how to use them. Fusion grenades can be very deadly with starfire protocol equipped. Instant kill, along with some tracking and can kill one guys and set the rest on fire!

            • Last night I ran ToO with a couple of people I haven't games with for a long while (several months, at least). It was my spontaneous decision to join them, and they accepted me in. Both of them were going to try to go Flawless, as was my penultimate goal, but I mainly wanted the rewards. Well, some time passes, as do a few Passages, one of which I failed at 3-3 W/L. That's when things got interesting. We started winning games, over and over again. When we hit 4 consecutive wins, I bought the Mercy of Osiris as a failsafe, and got the Boon (think that's the one that grants a two-for-one upon next win). We won the next match, and they were 5-0 and I was 6-0. Next match was tough, but we clutched it with my Sunsinger Self-Rez, i revived a teammate and we basically meleed them to death. The match was 4-4, so this was major clutching it, but we won. 7-0 for me. Next match, other team was 31's. So easy to beat, didn't stand a chance against us (me, 34, other teammates are 34 and 33). I still haven't used that Mercy of Osiris come the final match. We drop in, and it's two arc Titans and an arc Hunter. We all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that we'll at least complete our Trials Passages for 8 wins, cause we don't have to cope with a self-reviver this round. And then we won. 9-0 baby!!! I went yo the Lighthouse, snagged my Emblem, the Gloves, a Void Scout Rifle, and some Etheric Light. Then it was back to business. And boy, that last match to bring my teammates in for the Lighthouse as well...we trumped a level 34 Titan, 34 Self-Rez Warlock, and a 34 Gunslinger Hunter. We went 5-0 in that match, and I finished the shutout by pulling a self rez, shotgunning a guy that downed my teammates, and then chasing down a runaway Hunter. Best. Ending. Ever. Oh, and get this; while all of this went down, I was only able to communicate through XBL text messages. I'm having dental surgery done, and my face is swollen, so I can't use a mic. So we were down a line of communication in-match, me to my teammates, from start to finish of this entire story. Yeah, sweet, sweet victory. More than enjoying my rewards right now. :)

              • 1. Be a laggy -blam!- that doesnt take damage. 2. Use a super then have it ready next round instantly 3. Suck bungies cock Follow these 3 easy steps and you to can get a gun that is no better than one you can buy for 500 glimmer other than elemental damage.

Great tips but... Take out the gunslinger tip. When I hear the sound, my team pulls out snipes and dares it to come around the corner. Gunslinger = no armor Bladedancer = blink + armor + health regen

                          • You forgot one crucial tip: Keeping your enemies on their toes; throw off their balance. Try to be as unpredictable as possible. A smart player is usually a predictable player, because other smart players also think the same as you. If you have a mixture of pro and noob tactics, you can throw off the enemy's momentum.
