People who say MLG is not a sport...
If MLG is not a sport, why do people call golf a sport?
Fat @ss old people who have never ran a mile in their life can play golf perfectly fine. they can eat twinkies while putting and if they are lazy enough they can rent a golf cart to carry their fat lard @SS around the course while drinking a milk shake. Golf does not deplete any physical energy whatsoever and yet we lazy americans call it a sport.
I guess an obese kid who sweats by walking can call this a sport but in reality it is not so why isn't mlg called a sport? A sport is full of competition, strategy, teamwork and skill which mlg includes all of them.
also many people may say MLG is just a game and yes thay may be true but i recall going to football "GAMES" on friday nights.
Hell sex can even be called a sport if golf is considered one.

Why does it matter? If you think it's a sport then for all reasons do! If you don't then don't! Why should it matter? Do what you like to do, it shouldn't matter what someone else thinks.

MLG is a competition. Calling MLG a sport is like calling the English Premier League, or the NFL a sport. And I disagree with the whole 'gaming is a sport' thing. You have to draw the line somewhere, and I draw it at activities that require minimum physical effort. This includes chess, checkers, etc. Please note that this is just my opinion, and I don't care if 'professional organisations' call it a sport.

WOW so the loser alarm is going off really loud. I admit golf is a pretty wussy sport but mlg is more of a club made up of people who take video games way to seriously. Have a nice time trying to get girls with that halo tournament trophy.

Personally, I think this guy just suck at both video games and golf. You apparently don't play golf competitively because everything you described isn't really true becuase you HAD TO BE IN SHAPE to golf. Once you reach amature level you cannot use a golf cart at all, and lowere levels trying to get PRO still must carry their clubs. Yes, pro's get caddies but still, they walk the entire course, which is a minimal 2 miles. Granted 2 miles is nothing hard, but golf itself requires the player to be PERFECT everytime. A player as you described couldn't walk 2 miles up down and all over and make almost 100 swings per round (pre-shots included) and another 50 - 200 pratice before the tournament. This thread is nothing more then a no body anyways. Find something else to complain about because your arguments are commical at best because how narrow minded a person must be to have your views at life.

I'd like to see anyone who hasnt played golf before, hit a golf ball 400 yards into a tiny cup under 5 strokes. Its just not going to happen. I play varsity for my school, and the competition is unreal. 18 holes, and the difference between first and last place could simply be one bad hole. That is tough especially when I shoot 5 over par. I dont know about MLG being a sport, because the difference in skill between me and Snipedown is probably the same as me and say Boo Weekly

To be a sport it requires physical activity. MLG is a competetive league but its not a sport

golf is extreemely hard and requires years and years of practice just to be good at it. to be proffesional in it means countless hours of practicing. where you are wrong is the fact that if it is a game it is a sport. i dont think monopaly is a sport, clue, risk, no none of these are sports these are games which require little motion so GTFO

Sports are athletic activities requiring physical assertion. MLG, and video games in general do not require this, and thus are not sports. Sitting on your ass 12 hours a day holding a controller is NOT a sport. Tell your football friends that playing your Xbox is a sport and see how long they hold your head in the toilet.
