So yeah... Got a team of my friends together and got obliterated by a team with Thorn. Any advice like class or map strategies?

Get a thorn. Therefore immediately a better player
-
Don't buy the boons cause you'll probably lose anyway

Know when to be aggressive. Know choke points and line of sights. Always keep talking to each other. Let them know of your radar. If you get shot first and you dont see where you got shot from, retreat and regroup. I cannot stress enough how important it is to be aggressive and communicative. PS- being aggressive does not mean being reckless. There is a difference.

Good luck

Communication is key. Tell your team where you are seeing/ reading them on radar, what they are doing, what YOU are doing and what you want them to do. Not to mention listen and account for your teams calls as well. Come up with call locations as well, quick obvious stuff. for example our team used calls like middle, bridge, high ground, low ground, outside, inside, spinning disks and heavy ammo. For example if I say "the guy is one shot inside by the heavy ammo" they know to go their and surround him or her. This adds to the effectiveness of tools like radar by letting your team give you his HP, exact location even what gun he has. The gun you use is somewhat relevant but not core to your success. I would not touch an auto rifle but anything else is perfectly fine. Considering this weeks map I personally use red death(pulse rifle), Efrideet's Spear(sniper rifle) and Jolder's hammer(heavy Machine gun)The key to this mode is careful planning and not rushing. You want to pick off a guy secure that body then pick off the next, ect. As a final word of advice though you don't need to be close to a body to secure it, its actually a really bad idea if your opponents have a sun singer.

Edited by Rylor Threev: 5/25/2015 1:43:50 AMCommunication, it's very important, create a strategy for each kind of situation, don't repeat the same strategy if it fails, it's good to have a shotgun and a sniper in the team, also check the enemy team weapons before the match starts

Don't play this like you play the crucible. Teams of thorn users are easily countered by snipers, watching your lanes, high TTK weapons like the last word, vex, red death, and the bottom half of the clip in suros (yes fire through the first half before you encounter). Also, agility is everything! If you are the last guardian standing, kite the shit out of the other team until you can go for the revives - use a sniper when they aren't on your radar and have your team call out their locations. SAVE YOUR SUPERS!!! I can't even count how many teams lost to us because they popped their supers early in the match - use them for match point wins to win/keep from losing - and only use them when needed (last guardian standing and need it to pull off a win or counter another super for example) Don't rush! If you are playing some sorry saps that are horrible, then rushing the final few rounds is fine to finish it up quick, but you don't want to die somewhere your team can't revive you. Practice! Took my team 4 losses to get used to trials and start using good strategy. Good luck! It's really fun once you get a good strategy going ;)

Definately check what guns the other team is using, rush but change ur positions each round, good communication with your team, snipers are a must especially at the start of the round to pick rushers off and the biggest thing you cannot do is underestimate any team on this trials !
-
Don't.

snipe and headglitch use a fast sniper and a ranged primary to counter vex and TLW preferrable thorn or red death if you dont have it some vendor weapons are also good too

4 RepliesFrom a person with 3 flawless, and making a 4rth character for a 4th: -One of each class -Supers should be used to finish a round quickly or come back from the worst Stick together -Never rush the same place multiple times (2 times is ok, 3 times if they are terrible) -Examine the enemies before you start, their weapons (especially secondaries, though heavies are good to know too), classes and subclasses, and armor -Know your spawn before you start, and start making decisions early (If you're on the right side when your teams are looking at eachother in the animation, your spawning outside, if you're on the left, you're inside) -Be careful of people rushing you with supers during heavy -Heavy ammo spawns on round 3 or 4 -If you need to stay back and play passively at times, do it -Never let your guard down -Play with friends who you have good communication with and play with often, also don't get stressed out, you'll stress them out -Never quit, if things go bad, you get a loss, well, don't give up That's all I really have to offer, Good luck guys

Edited by Bravely : 5/24/2015 11:54:28 PMYou need a team that you gel with, and if you're low leveled it's okay to be carried. Mics are a necessity, don't get involved if they don't have a mic. I don't have thorn but I went in with Bad Juju and Praedyth's revenge and somehow I helped my team and got the chest piece. ECSTATIC.

1 ReplyNo you wont do shit this is not a game mode suited for you. Bungie favored only the elitist pvp players this time.
-
Don't go.
-
2 RepliesUse Thorn. The only way to fight fire in this game is with a torch.
-
Take good guns like primary exotic. Rush their heavy with a super. Switch to Truth for your heavy
-
1 ReplyDon't play it because you're more than likely to get dced and have it count as a loss

Practice ! I personally play a lot of crucible and my team are solid, we use 2 thorns and hawkmoon so we destroy them and go flawless majority of the time.
