We are looking for team mates because you (Bungie, not you specifically) forced us too.
Imagine if you could only play Halo multiplayer up to say skill level 40, then to get past that you had to play custom games only. It would be shit wouldn't it? I rest my case.

Halo is PvP oriented. The PvE content can be completed solo. Destiny is PvE oriented. Matchmaking simply wouldn't work

I see you trying to convince these people that matchmaking wouldn't work, I agree that it would be a mess, and also ruin the experience for all the players who already have groups, a lot of which aren't 6. But trying to convince these guys is like trying to convince a anti vaxxer that vaccines are actually useful.

Well apparently meeting randoms on a third party website that is is both ineffective and time consuming, is better than just being partied up up with randoms in game...
