So I'm seeing a lot of people upset by the exclusiveness of the Lighthouse. I understand it's existence and even feel more of a pull towards the ToO because of it's existence. Problem is, I will likely never find a team good enough to go the distance (finding a decent team LFG has proven hard).
So I was thinking there should be an alternative way for players like me who focus on PoE. Why have an exclusive room for PvP players only?
Edit: To be clear, I'm suggesting a place equal to the Lighthouse geared towards PVE players. In general it is far easier for PVP players to play PoE and get the gear and much harder for PVE players to go to the trials and get that gear. It's not about the gear so much as it's about equality between PVE areas and PVP areas.
Edit: I understand the lore has nothing to do with PoE, which is why I'd be more than happy for a separate area. I don't care about getting to the Lighthouse more than having a social space for PoE elite.

You have the treasure room. It gives the same stuff. Fighting AI is way easier than actual people. You should get rewarded for your skill, that's what they're doing. You're just salty
-
Am I the only pve player that don't give a rats ass if I ever get to go to the lighthouse? Lol
-
If you beat PoE 35 flawless you should be able to go to heaven Lmao
-
Considering you don't have to be flawless to get to the lighthouse. No. You can die 20 times. Only have 7 wins and lose a game and still go to the lighthouse.
-
Alternative is what turns me off. Another prize? Sure but don't kill my lighthouse
-
THEN WHAT THE HECK DO YOU CALL THAT "FLAWLESS RAIDER" PLATINUM TROPHY?????? DOES PVP HAVE A "FLAWLESS VICTORY" TROPHY??? NO. SO SHAADYUUUUUP!!!
-
Dailies = no PvP equivalent. Fair. Weeklies = no PvP equivalent. Fair. Nightfalls = no PvP equivalent. Fair. Raids = no PvP equivalent. Fair. Strikes = The crucible playlist. Fair. Queen's wrath = Iron banner. Fair. No PvE equivalent = Lighthouse. Unfair!

Edited by Ectogasm: 5/26/2015 4:25:35 PMY'know now that I think about it. There should be a flawless PoE achievement
-
I believe there will be a way to get to lighthouse one day just that now its only for trials flawless... Maybe later on venus opens a vez gate to mercury!!! OR BLACK GARDEN IS MERCURY IN THE PAST!!!! think about it maybe one day eh???
-
It's just so beautiful on Mercury... the sun, so bright. I have to sheild my eyes as my ship flies in low and drops me at the lighthouse. Ornaments and wind chimes dance in the halls of the cult camp. I climb the steps to the alter to claim my prize...I think I might go back tomorrow to explore the halls with my fireteam... I hear there's a secret room under the camp.
-
Actually, there is. The crystal barrows.
-
I find it hilarious how pve players want to bitch now. After 8 months of pvp having NOTHING. Iron banner (same old pvp every time) once a month and the same maps/game types. No way to reach the highest level without pve. Now there's just one room pve players can't get to and they're all losing their minds.

One thing I do find interesting is that players who have already gotten to the Lighthouse this week go back into ToO even though they can't gain anything from it.
-
Please, pvp players could not do anything pre dark below, Could do almost nothing in the darkbelow, and now that they get some love eeryone is pissed, i think it is great to have 2 different paths to victory. (I personally play both)
-
It should be called the Outhouse. And it's the prison shitter.
-
Defeat lvl 35 Skolas without any deaths? Unlikely. Lets see somebody go 9-0 without dying once.
-
Hahaha you admit pvp players are better. Don't expect content difficulty to be lowered to cater to less skilled players. Doesn't make any sense
-
One thing bungie could do is make it so you can buy multiple Mercys. That way people that aren't they best can get to the light house by stockpiling coins over a week or so period of time. I would not mind and I just got my flawless without having any coins to buy any boons, Mercys, or favors. Straight 9 wins.
-
It should just be open to everyone Who cares that newbs with thorns get to go somewhere. They are newbs

Edited by Un1337ninj4: 5/26/2015 1:20:05 AMThe only issue I have with this is how tightly in the canon the Trials are in-line with the Lighthouse and the intent of the Trials as a whole. Now, entering a portal to the HoW flag-Ketch/some alternative? YESH!
-
I voted yes, because I think very few people would get even close. (If you mean the entire lv35 arena and not just Skolas)
-
My group just went through 35 without wiping and we think that should deserve a lighthouse visit
-
It's not that difficult to get all the loot, i haven't gone flawless yet but i know that it is possible, before you accuse me of being a good pvp player check my stats for pvp, they are rubbish, i managed to find a team that is around my skill level and we went 8-3, 2 of us were 33 and only one had a maxed weapon, now i am 34 and so is the other person, my last word is almost at 365 and the second guy is working on his red death, I'm fairly confident we can go flawless next time. Just find a decent team, get a good start going, and do it without bitching or complaining, you will probably lose, a lot, but just keep doing it. Practice makes perfect.

PoE has the treasure room. Crucible players need something that you can't get from pve to keep it special
-
Get better at the game. It really isn't hard. Check my K/D on my warlock. Look at his recent games. I play PvE WAY more than PvP. It's the same thing half the time. People are incredibly predictable. Just learn the map, and learn common routes. Hell, we played a strategy last night where we ran to mid 2x and then suddenly for the next round, we cut them off at the left with a Nova Bomb. Easy wins.
