So I'm seeing a lot of people upset by the exclusiveness of the Lighthouse. I understand it's existence and even feel more of a pull towards the ToO because of it's existence. Problem is, I will likely never find a team good enough to go the distance (finding a decent team LFG has proven hard).
So I was thinking there should be an alternative way for players like me who focus on PoE. Why have an exclusive room for PvP players only?
Edit: To be clear, I'm suggesting a place equal to the Lighthouse geared towards PVE players. In general it is far easier for PVP players to play PoE and get the gear and much harder for PVE players to go to the trials and get that gear. It's not about the gear so much as it's about equality between PVE areas and PVP areas.
Edit: I understand the lore has nothing to do with PoE, which is why I'd be more than happy for a separate area. I don't care about getting to the Lighthouse more than having a social space for PoE elite.

I sweated my butt off to get 2 characters to the lighthouse and barely missed my chance with my other character. We went to 35 PoE and wiped one time and killed Skolas on our first try, it's not even close to the same skill level. Now maybe if you can carry an entire team through 35 with NO DEATHS and everyone starting from the beginning I think bungie should let you fly by the lighthouse and look at it out your spaceship window ;)
-
No because you can get element primaries from scolas, not seen one drop yet but they do
-
I'm no pvp player, so will never see the lighthouse. All I'm confused about is why being awesome (or being carried) in pvp gets you elemental weapons which are of no particular use in pvp? You complee pve and get an RNG chance at maybe getting an elemental primary.. Seems a little backwards.
-
I disagree. I'm not the worst pvp player, tried ToO, and lost. Whoever can push through the best of the best in pvp deserve the lighthouse or rewards that come with it. While I might never own that awesome ToO gear, I'm fine with it.

Seriously? One has nothing to do with the other... Plus, that trip to Mercury is supposed to be difficult to achieve. We were warned way in advance that this shit was NOT gonna be easy.

Edited by Gravezero: 5/24/2015 9:29:05 PMAnyone can group a titan and 3 gjallahorn together ti beat 35 PoE. Going flawless took skill. . Atleast for us non- lagswitchers.

Based on the fact that the Lighthouse is barren and has a dlc wall in it, it will likely be available to all. The current version is most likely a preview available as a reward.
-
No, you should not be able to get the lighthouse in PoE. The lighthouse is a prestigious place where only the best players can get to. PoE has the treasure room, which with a key is a guarunteed exotic for you. I'm not good at PvP, and I think your idea is awful.
-
I play both and I have success in all. I don't get this pure pve and pure pvp bullshit. It is all destiny and I play it all.
-
There is equality: PvP osiris: access to a rich rewards chest Pve skolas: access to a rich rewards chest The only difference is that one is on a different planet, which in every other aspect is useless thus far.
-
Too easy.
-
The lighthouse is where you get the treasure chest for the ToO. It's like giving the access to the Treasury Vault at the end of PoE to people who won the ToO.
-
Boy if you don't

Yep and woman should have equal rights . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . hysterically laughing
-
No. Because any dirtbag can join on the last round and reap the benefits.
-
You think beating a broken pve encounter deserves the prestige of going to the lighthouse? Lololol scrubs these days.
-
Haven't done either.
-
It's for PVP players that have the skill to do it. Why don't you get friends to carry you if your not that good?
-
Scrub!
-
Anyone can be good at PvE. It's AI for -blam!-'s sake. Not everyone can be good at PvP. Reward those who can.
-
That would make absolutely no sence and you bitches need to suck it up.

Edited by Jazz: 5/24/2015 7:23:06 PMPvP players have been getting the short end of the stick for a while now. All they've had is Iron Banner since the game came out, while PvE players have had raids, story missions, daily missions, tons of different armor, raid weapons, etc.. It's nice to see PvP players getting a little love. Trials is meant for the best of the best, and the Lighthouse is a reward for the best of the best of the best. Disclaimer: I do both PvP and PvE. I've done all Prison of Elders and managed to go flawless in trials, and the Trials were immensely harder and more satisfying.

Get over it.
