So, if I understand correctly:
Motes, seemingly the most valuable commodity, buy lottary tickets and banners (both at significant coin) but not weapons, armor or upgrades?
The only way to now acquire upgrade materials is through 'end game' activities - requiring a prebuilt team?
However, we can individually acquire one exotic per week (per character) with one round of easy PoE?
Yet it takes four rounds (or two weeks assuming one character) of - team asembled - advanced and very hard PoE to upgrade - one - character's armor?
The last one assumes we have keys, which require exhaustive farming with little chance of drop?
Old upgrade mats (radients and ascendents) are useless and there's no way to fully (or even partially) upgrade older/ incomplete gear?
Old and very old gear drops constantly but can only be sharded for resources we all have an abundance of?
We can only have a week's worth of marks and one vendor that uses them?
We must play PvP to access the 3 faction vendors?
We cannot dispose of 'useless' items; like ammo synths, unless we spend two hours consuming each stack?
Public events earn you, well... Nothing worthwhile.
And meanwhile, our characters and vault overflow with many different but largely unexchangable currencies and resources?
Does this seem like a brilliant social experiment or a Marx Brother's movie?

Personal note:
I've enjoyed Destiny and almost certainly spent more time on it than any other game I can recall.
That said, I can predict with a fair degree of confidence that; unreformed, this 10 yr experiment doesn't have 18 months of legs on it. It will be dead by Christmas with a corporate hostility unrivaled in history.

5 RepliesI do not understand the poll @_@ Vault and vendors need fixing, more efficient, tower and reef need to not load ridiculous amounts of information (so last gen consoles are not overwhelmed and we all get more vault space) Disagree so much with rerolls (just put in customization FFS, why should it be a gamble, why should bob get best weapon for 3 motes, while jack spends 30 for the exact same thing?) I do not like the support/encouragement of a gambling type system/behavior. I thought Bungie said vanguard marks would be compatible with other vendors (I guess I am mistaken) Ammo synths, cool-downs need separating, reducing, and hot-keyed by ghost menu (hotkey especially because of last gen consoles) And it wouldn't hurt if in field, we could exchange synths for others, by combining, and dismantling into level above of below (we absorb the loss based on value of synths for this) This game is starting to piss me off ... mostly because of new weapons. Old system I could handle, now they are mixing things together, taking away favorite perks (field scout)

1 ReplyIt's not actually an economy unless all materials can be exchanged for all others. I'm currently bottlenecked on hadrionic essence with my warlock, while my Titan has 2000 plasteel plating. I get that this needs to be balanced - so work out ways to let market pressures apply. A single base currency like glimmer makes sense, let all materials be traded for glimmer and let all materials and items be purchasable with same. Let the prices fluctuate based on how much of each is being traded (like any other economy). ------- Also, would be awesome to let us sell weapons and armor on consignment. This might be less interesting now that items can be re-rolled.

1 ReplyThat would actually be great to have an economy in the game. All the pieces are there for it. Just add a trading mechanism.

Nailed it.
