Horrible Exotic Engrams?
When I saw Xur had helmet engrams, I was overjoyed at the chance of scoring some new exotic gear. I flew into the reef and made my way down stairs to xur, and I bought 3 engrams to start. The first three decrypted into a knucklehead, glasshouse, and helm of saint 14. I was a little upset, but I thought, "I can still buy more, so I'll be okay."
I go back to noodle face and unload the rest of my motes on exotic helmet engrams. When I get back to the cryptarch, they decode into an obsidian mind, glasshouse (again), and 2 MORE KNUCKLEHEAD RADARS!! I blew 160+ motes to not get any new exotics - only ones I already had with worse stat rolls!!!!
Did anyone else not have any luck with xur? What did you get from your engram? Were you happy? Feel free to rant or show off
Edit: We are getting some good pulls and some results worse than mine. These engrams are unpredictable
Edit: I opened 3 more and got an apotheosis, glasshouse, and achlyophage. Smh I have no motes or ascendant now
Edit: To clarify, I was up to 276 motes spent on engrams

But it's a RNG buy already. You have a what, 1 in 8 chance to get the specific one you want? You can't complain to much

I bought 11 I think and got everything I wanted. Nighthawk, the ram, eternal warrior, and a third man. The rest were shards or for collection

I spent about 345 motes and got celestial nighthawk and the ram

I blew more then 500 motes on more then 20 engrams. At least I got the helmet I wanted. Second to last engram I opened.

Bought about 8. Knucklehead Skull of the dir Nighthawk Eternal warrior Glass house Saint helm Ram Saved the last

Bought about 15 engrams looking the new gear. First one I opened - Eternal warrior. The next 14 were all old ones, musta got all the titan helmets twice!

I collected 3 radars, the new Titan helm and a mask of the third for my hunter (which I've been waiting for). Wasn't really hoping for much but now I'm convinced I should make a Titan with all the armor pieces I've gotten for it.

Got 30+ helm engrams, in return I got the night hawk and about 10 saint 14 with 15 obsidian minds. [u] Waste of motes, waste of time and unrewarding in every sense. [/u]

Ouch, bought only two and I got The Ram and Celestial nighthawk, check my characters if you don't believe me. They have them equipped :)

Will decrypt soon as I get it installed & login. Even if its a old one, ill still be happy if it has a higher stat than the 1 I already have(I'm a bit ocd on getting better stat on exotic armor even if its just by a few lol). If not, I got a shard for some motes Even if I had dlc, I wouldn't have bought more then a few. Maybe a 4th to save back awhile(just for fun)

2 RepliesI spent a crap ton (exchanged 300+ shards and energies a piece for motes) and got all repeats of things I already had. After playing Saturday, I got just enough to buy one more engram. Turned it in and got nighthawk. Worth it.
