POE level 34, Hive (Arc) round 4 strat

Alright, well many people are having a tough time with round 4 on the prison of elders level 34. So what I came with is that at the start of each round have each guardian ready or near where the objectives spawn. That way they can easily dismantle them from the get go. I usually like to have a Titan ready to head to the middle, that way they can pop their bubble and stop them from being blasted from the boomers and wizards. Have a hunter guard the left, and your choice of either guardian on the right (it usually helps to hide behind the barrels on the right and dismantle it that way. Now in order to have smooth rounds, leave on enemy alive at the end of each round. That way the Titan, warlocks and hunters can rebuild their supers, this is mostly for the titans bubble though, then once those supers are up, kill the last enemy and rinse and repeat until you are done. If you do this the rounds will be easy and you won't struggle.

  • I will simply state this. I am too lazy to go make a video guide about it so if someone else wants to they are free to do so. The Hive room is the easiest room in the PoE. This is because it is possible to spawn trap the enemy so that none of them come out of the doors until you decide to let them out. This can be done with just 1 person. This gives the other 2 all the time in world to finish the critical objective. From the entrance, book it to the right. There is a hanging platform dead ahead of you (above a door). If someone is standing on top of that platform and no one else goes near them, the spawn will lock. To break the spawn, this player then jumps down and shoots one of the two doors. Special things to note. There are a couple of enemies on the other side of the room that might come out (should just be a handful of thrall). Going near the player spawn trapping will break it. Shooting rockets or supering has a chance to break it no matter where you are. There you go, the cheese my team and I found during our first run in PoE. Enjoy it until bungie patches it.

    • Here is my advice, and after a long grueling grind on determining how to do this, here was our strategy which we reproduced 3 times without fail. Basically as you come out the door, all 3 people book it to the back corner on the left after exiting the initial door. This puts you opposite of the water side. Have rockets ready. So if you remember from Crota's end you can distract hive members by being "noisy", which means they will be attracted to the corner but not the entire map as the spawn points for the rest of the hive are too far away. You REALLY have to be disciplined and stay in that corner. Wave 1 is a free wave, nothing to say here other than fang of ir yut, murmer, light of abyss, whatever you want. On wave 2, have 1 person run close to the water, there is a path to the left where there is a big rock, run to it before the wave starts and crouch. While crouched the other 2 players shoot off their scout rifles like mad causing noise and grabbing aggro. Be prepared to shoot rockets at even thrall. While this is going down the designated crouched player can get to each flag unnoticed and basically cap. But once capped run back to the corner. The trick here is to cause the path finding of all the hive to come from the right side. If you do it right you can cap all three flags before any hive really come out. But you CAN NOT hold back with primaries. On wave 3 you have to over whelm with raw force anything red on the radar. My team basically rocketed enemies blind before we saw them.

There's actually a cheese for this. I'm not sure if I should upload it or not. I came across it my first attempt, and have been using it ever since. We usually get it first try now.

        • Just want to expand on this a bit. Last night I did it with a hunter, titan and warlock. I really think PoE was designed with the idea of having one of each class in the fireteam. What we did was our hunter went bladedancer and used every perk for invisibility he had. He went right after round one to the far side of the map and went invis. The titan and warlock were on the far left. Their job is to stick together until their mines appear and kill the wizards ASAP. Titan defender, warlock sunsinger. Basically the hunter just stays alive and keeps going invis until that mine appears and he dismantles it then joins the other two on the left. The titan gets the mine in the middle when it appears. It's the hardest one to dismantle and as soon as it's done, titan goes out the back of the bubble and gets over to the warlock/hunter on the left. If the titan has helm of st 14 it is a bit easier just avoid the wizard fire that'll be coming at out on the way out. Warlock deals with the mine on the left and if the hunter/titan are down can self res and survive long enough to get the other two back up. As OP said, always leave at least one enemy alive and let your supers replenish between rounds. It makes it last longer, but with arc burn on I honestly don't know how you could get that middle mine dismantled and survive without them.

We drop the blindly bubble right at the door he comes out. At first it looks like he just runs away but he doesn't. He runs a short distance but then stands in the circle that's on the ground blind. The other 2 guys are already camped on each side of him and light him with gally. No adds come after you until your 3 gally gets shot and everyone's first 2 rockets land perfectly cuz he is blind and just standing in the open.

          • I just finished this yesterday! It's by far the toughest part of any PoE round I've ever experienced. After 12 hours of trying to complete it. Which took 124 deaths, 649 kills and a K/D that I'd rather not mention. It was done. All that I can say is that I somehow did it and I believe that you can too. Just communicate with your team and good luck. The rewards are worth the struggle

            • Did this strat last night, one thing that helped us after multiple wipes was to bust out the gally and take down witches asap.

            • We stuck together and had no issues. 2 warlocks and a hunter. For some reason they kept shooting at the "invisible" hunter. But thankfully the warlocks could self rez and that was the end of it.

              • You don't necessarily need a titan bubble. Infact, it's a waste to use it on only one mine. What you really need is bladedancer hunters to go invisible and disarm the mines. hunters can melee the mines to activate blink strike cloak. It's much easier doing that. After the mines are disabled, a titan should place a bubble to protect the team from wizards and knights. I've done it with 2 hunters and a warlock. Titan bubble isn't needed but helpful.

              • I just wanna say I have beaten the level 35 version and every round on every difficulty and I still think that this round is one of the hardest, harder than several lvl 35 rounds. If you're a Hunter it's not... But a warlock... I have no bubble and no invis... Tell me how I'm supposed to sit in the middle of a control point without getting one shotted by everything. You can't even just kill the Wizards quick. They spawn out of nowhere extremely fast
