I would prefer a weapon cache back where we got it (so we can retrieve even though I still have one) sure other wepons are good, but there should be special materials / other weapon caches, where we can ascend it along the way in story (so it becomes decent every now and then)
An upgrade ladder, from common, to uncommon, to rare, to legendary (but FFS to hell wih that exotic logic so many people have, I do not need more weapons I can't wield with others... to hell with exotic leveling items (I have eidolon ally cause I refuse to make into exotic.... that and I haven't done raid), burn the exotic idea I say... unill bungie starts letting us equip more than one.)

If it were on a ladder (Husk style), you wouldn't HAVE to upgrade to exotic. You could leave it at legendary. Make it the player's choice... Damage stays the same, you simply gain an exotic perk for going exotic.
-
That does make sense, though, it's saddening that some exotics really outclass other variants of weapons, for example Thorn vs the various other hand-cannons. Something like their effectiveness can be argued about for days, but when it comes down to it, something with equal damage that also has a decent Life drain debuff (e.g poison, fire, eldritch, or vampiric effects) can clearly outclass most other weapons on the battlefield. There wouldn't be a reason to NOT change it to exotic for the purpose of those special perks that make it better than anything else out there other than the inability to use it with another exotic. In summary I guess what I'm trying to say is that some exotics are just flat out better than legendaries and to make something with viable, it'd need to be close but not equal as a legendary to an exotic. It's very much a balancing act.
-
Its not the perk itself, its the fact that exotics have more perks, usually 3 rather than 2 :p
-
Yeah, but if the player has a load out plan for it and leaves it legendary, that's their choice. This way, both sides can be happy.
-
True. Giving someone a choice is better than not having one at all.
-
I agree on the non-exotic part, just because I feel the same way about having weapons that I like in terms of look and function, that I can't use because they're exotic. I think it'd be better if there was more diversity in terms of looks for primaries and secondaries, instead of everything looking the same with a few different parts.

if bungie let me at designs, I would make joke weapons, just because , like I would make a cardboard box gun, held together with tape, I would make a baguette sniper, and a banana for a handgun, why? cause it would give players a good laugh and allow them to use if they feel like they want to be odd :P

nyan cat auto rifle (the rainbow)
-
Lol that'd be funny, but I don't know if that's the right fit for the tone Destiny is going for. Would be interesting to have something both tonally sound and humorous at the same time.
-
Would a bow an arrow (super high tech) be alright? (I want, and this best be stealthy so no one knows that i am there :P)
-
Eh, I feel that type of stuff is still a tad immersion breaking (plus many games do the whole "bow and arrow in modern or sci-fi" thing and it's a bit over played if you ask me). If you want silly but still immersive weapons, maybe something like a gun being held together by duct tape is within that realm. It could have a description along the lines of "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" or "this battered weapon still fires true, and it's disrepair adds to its charm". The weapon could fire bullets that cause bleed or something because it breaks the enemies it hits, just as it itself is broken.

ok a bolt/dart launcher :P, iono, <.> I am just overly excited and crazy atm since ps4 giving troubles https://status.playstation.com/en-us/ Cant find people or PoE
-
Ah, well best of luck on PSN, I hear it's been having some troubles as a whole. In any case, perhaps a bolt gun of some kind could be useful, or a Blunderbuss, which is a gun that pirates would fill with anything because it could shoot anything. Like forks and knives and stuff. Lol
-
our shotguns are blunderbusses
-
Are they!? *whispers* Are they? Lol I would say past 2 meters, they're cotton candy launchers lol.
