Destiny is no longer about getting to max level
Everyone is so upset because they claim its "too easy" to get to light level 34. What you all don't understand is that at this point it's not about being max level it's about waiting to ascend a legendary until you get one with the right perks to fit your play style. People treat getting from 32 to 34 like a race when it really shouldn't be one at all. Stop complaining about how easy it is to level up and start playing smarter. Ascending Crota gear is just stupid at this point.

I always played this way. its what kept me playing the game actually. I was always looking for the armor with the perfect perks. it took me getting like 3 raid helmets to get a pure intellect helmet. same with the rest of the gear. I think people who get to 34 on day one are missing out.

1 ReplyIt's more about how many sets of armor can you get. Can you get the PoE set. Can you get the ToO. Can you get etheric light to get your CE and VoG gear to light 42. It's more about the armor than the light level now.

I'm saving a shitload of etheric light before I begin ascending anything. Weapons and armor. I wanna explore all the options. Especially waiting for Variks to sell the other pieces, and obtaining more exotic pieces for each class.

I was grinding away for Ascendant shards and Legendaries to upgrade all my characters, and then I got Bad Juju, put it on my Warlock with grenade cooldown perks on my Legendaries and I suddenly started spamming grenades and regenerating my super constantly. I had this amazing build where all the perks combined to make a killing machine that was something more than just a Guardian with a high light level. My other characters just look like a load of random Legendaries thrown together and it's so disappointing by comparison. I've been trying to do the same with my Titan and Hunter since and I'm still working on it. It's much tougher to combine the right perks to make an ultimate build, than to just level up.

My Crota gear has amazing stat rolls. You can get fuc ked if you think I'm not ascending it.

The game is the same as before, but now the difficulty has shifted. It was always something people strived to do before, but not many did. I personally always want to be the max level available the with the best rolled things available. Thanks to this new system, it is hilariously easy to do what I was trying to do before.

The real goal is almost always max level with perfect stats, being max level with sub optimal stats does help with that thanks to level scaling.

Reach 34 as fast as possible so you can do all activities each week while working on getting actual gear you want at 34.

3 RepliesI ascended my crota boots for heavy ammo purposes my helmet because I like the crota raid and being 34 helps with skolas. I have another light left over for when I get a legendary helmet that actually will benefit me (straight intellect with hand cannon perks)

I was thinking this same thing, but more along the lines that Bungie is now allowing us to further customize our guardian so it can be unique and different from all the others while maintaining max light level. In dark below people complained about lack of max level customization and now in house of wolves people are complaining about leveling their gear up too fast, but in reality it's giving them more options for max level customization. Im in no way saying the house of wolves is a perfect DLC that will save Destiny, but people are impossible to satisfy.

I'm just going for all DO armor. High discipline and strength. Plus all perks go for hand cannons and helm is increased super with grenade kills which is perfect for me. Armamentarium = 100% discipline so high intellect isn't needed as much.
