How in the hell has anyone beat him? He was the second boss for my group when we tried PoE 32 last night, and it seemed like every time we took his shield down, he regened it to a different damage type. And then all the other cabal seemed to just keep spawning at a ridiculous rate and had so much health... Anyone have advice on how to beat him?
Apparently the Gjallarhorn is a must have for this...

What character were you playing as?
-
It's easy if tour group works together
-
Don't stand still. I was all over that damn map. Taking out the trash mobs first. Basically played leap frog the whole damn time and raised folks when their timers were up. Coordinate the dropping of the shield so everyone is ready to molest him together. I had one of each element jolders hammer and I'd drop his shields fairly quick, other two would gjallarhorn him. Maybe there's a cheese or a more efficient way, I only did it once.
-
We just ghorned him as soon as he spawned. Since he starts with solar shields he went down easy. Also... adds only spawn when his shield goes up. Were you guys only carrying one elemental type?
-
Call me a noob but there is a set of stairs you can get under when you need a breather. But be careful , they can still hit you with splash damage. He's tough. Why system are you on? If Xbox one- xJP607x hit me up
-
Don't try the Level 35...you'll cry It is done though, my Titan has never looked so -blam!-ing good!
-
Dude... My buddy and I two-manned it. I ran Defender and he went Striker. Even with Gjallarhorn you need to be patient. PoE is a marathon, not a straight sprint.
-
You don't need gally, we did it without, we ran 2 titans and a lock, as soon as you enter the room, the little tunnel on the right, set up camp in there haha. We alternated changing our heavy weapons we could use synths basically every 2.5 mins
-
Just 2 maned lvl32 PoE with a friend as a hunter & warlock. He was easy with 3 but tough with 2. We would hang in the corridor when you first get in. Kill enemies until it got to hairy then move to the back. Kill some more and head to a different spot. We left one enemy and focused on the boss till new mobs spawned in. It took a while but we wore his ass down and killed him. I was the hunter and would take out guys but with a focus on being the medic so the warlock won't have to waste a self res. It was a challenge but super fun. Hang in there. You can do it.

Edited by zallapo79: 5/21/2015 11:05:34 PM3 gallys smashing 21 rounds at the entrance. If still alive then move to to the left, hide behind the barrier and finish him off. Without the gallys it's a long slog :/

Have a Titan in the fireteam, all equip Gjallarhorn and have synth ready available get the Titan to pop a bubble with weapons of light then take it in turns jumping out of the bubble blasting the said boss with wolf pack rounds that are increased by the weapons of light, kills him in no time at all
-
Honestly Ghorn is OP. All we had to do was unload 7 gallys in him each while dipping into a blessing of light (for armour purposes). He died in 20 seconds max. The type of shield didnt even matter lol. gally is OP haha

Edited by Jeff the Cabal: 5/21/2015 11:02:25 PMSplit up. Run around the room. That way the enemies don't focus on one spot on the map. Keep your distance from your teammates. Clear out all the enemies, don't fire at the boss yet. Once all enemies are cleared out, make sure the room is cleared of all enemies. After every enemy is killed, all of you guys focus your rockets at the boss. Fire. Once his shield goes down, you'll be able to do damage to him. Once his shield goes up, more enemies will spawn. Repeat

Edited by Vesta Rips: 5/21/2015 10:55:01 PMHave a hunter on ads control and have the two other focus on the boss. that's what we did. Take turns defending the person upping heavy. I was running invective and took out most of the captains and revived my team mates.
-
2 manned him, plus one shot from my void felwinters took down a third of his solar shield so Gjallarhorn isnt a "must" it just helps a ton
-
I have
-
First time I did 32, we took him down in 3:28 minutes
-
Me and my friend just used our bubble shields to give us weapon boosts and protection, we spammed his elemental shield with whatever element the shield was and when it was depleted, I just gjallarhorned the -blam!- out of him. We repeated that on the 32 version as 32s.
-
Invective works very well for me here
-
Kill every cabal the shoot the boss, every time he fixes his shield more cabal will come out

I didnt expect to get nearly this many comments! I expected 5 at most. Thanks to everyone for responding!

2 Repliesdid it in a group with no mics (well except me). Took two damn hours to do the hole POE. I posted on LFG and finally got an invite only to see no mics. But i gave it a go. It would have been so much easier with mics. In the end, after dieing several times. My strategy, was this, I had 6 gjallahorn rockets and I waited till the other guys dropped his shields and then i unloaded my rockets on him. I mean i started noticing after staying alive for like 20 minutes the little sliver i took off him originally was the only damage we'd done. See the other guys were taking his sheild barely down but out of bullets or busy running to do any damage and back came the sheilds. Plus nobody was using other elements for when he recalibrated. for a time i switched to the truth but i dropped his shield but nobody was shooting him. So i decided after several clutch saves if i do say so myself, that i'd just keep an eye on the boss and wait till the other guys dropped the sheilds. That worked and i just hammered him and i dealt the final blow. In the end i'd say i was responsible for taking off 75% of his damage bar with this strategy. Another tip i have stick and move so to speak. Move around the edges constantly, and don't get pinned. I saved my team at least 5 times by doing an entire lap of the arena, drawing enemies away and then circling back when i had time to revive. But we died constantly when we tried to stay in one place.
-
We had the issue but found a safe/kinda spot on the left side were he can't really shot you but others can! But my team run and gunned him only took 10 min but just run and gun with a hunter cloaking to save people or shield titan
-
1 ReplyReally? You can't do the level 32 one? I think your playing the wrong game mate. Go pick up farm simulator
-
I did it last nite with just my Defender Titan and one other person, a Voidwalker..took a little longer, but as long as you focus the mobs down and then unleash hell on Tau'urg, rinse and repeat, it s totally doable.

Two man team last night. One Gjallarhorn, One Truth, primaries were arc damage. Took a total of 2 synths each.
