How in the hell has anyone beat him? He was the second boss for my group when we tried PoE 32 last night, and it seemed like every time we took his shield down, he regened it to a different damage type. And then all the other cabal seemed to just keep spawning at a ridiculous rate and had so much health... Anyone have advice on how to beat him?
Apparently the Gjallarhorn is a must have for this...

I just Two manned it right now. Check my stats

Eh, it's not really the Ghorn. Yeah it helps, but you gotta get those shields down first. It sucked the first time I tried it. We though that we could just go to town on him right away but we realized it's easier to knock out a chunk of the cabal then put the hammer down on him. It helps to take shotguns of all elemental damage. That's what we did. Pop a bubble, change up special weapons, run out blast till his shields drop then hit him w/ everything that you have. The bubble really is the best safety net especially if the other players can keep putting out orbs for each other so you can constantly set the bubbles up.

Beat it twice without gally Kill all enemies before you drop his shields, they re spawn when he recharges
-
Yeah he is tough as hell! He regenerates his shield so fast. But still, did him on first try. Takes time.

1 ReplyOh wow...me and my group always think this as the easiest boss inside of the PoE
-
We just had each person using a different elemental damage on primary and secondary, all had gally as heavy. When a different shield pops up, the person with that elemental elemental damage took his shield down, than gally to the face. Dead.

Edited by Reubenatrix: 5/22/2015 5:22:37 AMWe beat him by going far left and rocketing mobs - then using shotguns on him...shotguns to the face! took about 2-3 minutes to kill him.
-
Me and a friend had one AFK for the entire fight but we managed to 2 man it on the second try
-
We Gjallarhorned him to death. He lasted about 30 seconds. Prolly less.
-
Gally is a must have for PoE. I'm sure you can do it with other weapons, but it just makes life easier.
-
Ads only spawn once he regains a different shield. Thin out the ads then light him up. Rinse and repeat
-
That's funny, because my friends and I beat him, and none of us had Gjallarhorn. It was a long and hectic battle, but we emerged victorious. My loadout was Red Death, Vestian Dynasty, and Deviant Gravity-A. Obviously not the best weapons to use, but I managed to hold my own with them.
-
I used a hunter with stealth to revive me squad equiped with gjallarhorn and we had a titan with truth and warlock with gjallarhorn. Just keep moving and popping those ammo synths .

1 Reply-Strategy for all types of players and no specific weapons needed- Run to the right side of the map, wait until adds are surrounding you, then run to the opposite corner and hide behind some Head-Glitch cover. The boss will be there before anyone else which will give you very good time to completely demolish him. At the same time, you have so much time that you can use whatever weapons you want. Once the enemies start surrounding and overwhelming you just run back to the other corner and repeat.

1 ReplyWe beat it with no wipes
-
All the bosses are fairly simple once you beat them. It just takes doing it and screwing up a few times
-
1 ReplyLol urrox is easy at this point can't wait to try skolas
-
6 RepliesIf you're having trouble with it, bring a Titan in with weapons of light and just shove gally-monster down his throat. He's not tough. Just requires patience.

I did it with an arc primary (over soul) a void special (sword breaker) and solar heavy (Gjallarhorn) also used abyss defiant solar and light of the abyss and ice breaker
-
Gjallahorn is not must have... Just clear the enemies and then hit him some. Rinse and repeat.

5 RepliesJust wait till you get to lvl 34 hive boss -_-
-
I find it very hard to believe that people are actually having trouble with this..
-
7 RepliesTruth, Gjallarhorn/Hunger of Crota, Thunderlord. Have on of each, takes him down so quickly.

Find a good place to camp at (nowhere is completely safe) have a solar shotgun to take care of any cabal who try and invade your happy space.
