Packages Rewarding Motes Bug
There is a nasty bug with the latest patch.
Any package that you earned pre-patch will give the correct rewards.
HOWEVER, any package that you earn POST-patch will ALWAYS and ONLY reward you with ONE mote!
Please fix this!

I don't even bother ranking up factions anymore.. There's no incentive.

I've gotten boots and a rocket launcher in my last two packages. Afraid you're just riding the RNG sucks train.

That's how it's supposed to be. They removed ascendant materials from packages.

I've gotten about 6 or so packages since the DLC dropped and only one has contained anything other than a single mote of light.

I have gotten shaders (Revanent), weapons and armor from Dead Orbit from levels I have earned since 1.1.2 went live. I have gotten motes as well but not always.

I ranked up NM last night, with commendations and hit the rank on patrol. Got 2 Motes. This really better be a bug. I was extremely disappointed to get nothing for my effort, enough that I came here to create a thread if I hadn't found an existing topic.

Which shouldn't even be possible because the packages don't give out engrams (which could be random) they are supposed to give out straight gear. Soo...can I please get my correct package Bungie? The Cryptarch still appears to giving out rewards. The problem is that it would seem the factions like Dead Orbit/New Monarchy/etc are bugged so some our efforts in ranking them up are literally worth nothing but a very small amount of Glimmer and the now overvalued Motes of Light (both of which are acquired by just playing the game). I hope this is just a bug, because if this is deliberate there's very little reason to do bounties (ergo play what becomes a large part of the end-game) besides for a bit of xp

The only time this happened for me was when I leveled up a faction with only commendations. Mildly frustrating

1 ReplyThere seems to be something wrong with the loot tables or database. Yesterday I was rewarded a Royal Amythyst from one of the first story missions in HoW. You could clearly see it on the right of the svreen when you turned in the mission, but it never went in to my inventory. And yes, I have checked the postmaster...

Ranked NM yesterday and got a shader and a mote. They claim that faction ranking will no long give shards, great cause i really needed motes too..... Oh well, guess i'll just play the game.

Each package i have earned has given me one mote as well. Also, the legendary engrams from before patch and earned since have given me ascendant shards still - no gear, no weapons

Any updates on this? I saw this today and didn't think anything of it...but if others are getting only motes too it must be a bug. Can one of the Mentors/Moderators please respond? #help #bungiehelp

6 RepliesI just opened a level 15 Dead Orbit package and only received TWO motes of light. That's it. Nothing at the postmaster. This can't be right.

Not true. I only got one package with a mote. Bunch of legendary gear with the rest--4 to be exact.

I just got a legendary hmg from a vanguard package. Post patch.

Each of my packages I got after patch/DLC, I got gear, motes, or engrams. So, no. You don't "only" get motes. And to give further information, I have gotten at least 3 packages. One from Vanguard and the rest from Rahool.

That is weird, I buffed my reputation with vanguard and crucible commendation and got two packages, got a Red Hand IX and a Pest Control Matrix - so those packages were generated after the DLC :/
