2 RepliesInstead of getting balls deep this time around, I am breaking it up with witcher 3 and dividing my time with good pacing. If you're going to mmo rush to the end with mad grind, you're going to end up a salt brick for the cows to lick. It will last me, I don't know about anyone else.

1 ReplyHoW is what I kinda thought comet would bring: Decent story, new strike, trials of Osiris, 5 different types of prison of elders!! I don't know for sure but it seems replay able
-
It's the carrot at the end of the stick, they just added a bit more carrots for you to try and catch. If that interests you, then this is for you. It seems more geared towards pve in this release, although we haven't tackled trials yet so we do not know how involved that will be. I imagine it will be similar to iron banner with a more focused tournament style setting. In my opinion, it's pretty fun. I quit for about a month before the dlc dropped because I found everything that I needed. Soon as this release and I began to play, I was right back into the action. Its still a grind, if your ok with that, then welcome back :)

2 RepliesHigher drop rates in crucible will keep people happy for a bit. But the moaners will still moan.

3 RepliesDee Bradley Baker is Variks. 10/10, will play again.

The story missions are short and easy, just like TDB. However, I found the HoW mission more fun than TDB missions. The PoE is going to bring a lot of replayability, especially with the possibility of farming keys on Patrol. If you have a slow week with nightfalls and your first PoE runs, you can always go farm venus for an hour or two can have one or two keys to go back into PoE for more gear. On top of that, every weekend will have a new PvP event if you get tired of horde mode. One final thing about this expansion that I think will make this expansion more playable than TDB is all of the new gear. Weapons are re-rollable, which is huge. This means that everyone can have their own personal rolls on any given weapon. I have already rolled around 40 motes on various weapons. It also means that players can customize their gear. I ascended a pair of VoG boots because they rolled discipline only, and all of my CE boots rolled strength. The amount of customisability made possible with this newest expansion will make HoW last until Comet.

2 RepliesEdited by TheEpicPotato77: 5/20/2015 11:44:34 AMI played it for an ok chunk of last night. A fun new strike with strong bosses. A really nice story that you are able to follow. An personally, my friends and i all love the Prison if Elders even more then raids! They change it up and keep you moving with different modifiers so its not always the same. I highly suggest playing again man!!!

Not saying we couldn't have done with a raid on top of all this content but in and of itself the expansion does justify it's purchase. Also if they need until the next dlc to deliver a raid like VoG rather than Crota's End (not that I don't enjoy this raid as well) then they should take that time. If you are finding it hard to agree with this statement I ask that you remember the first time you played VoG. What an experience. Wouldn't you like for them to reach those dizzying heights with a new raid rather than rushing one out half-arsed. Just some food for thought
-
No it won't, it'll get old real quick. Just like TDB.
-
1 ReplyI think you should wait 10 years to see how the game is suppose to be.
-
No raid but ToO and PoE is awesome rather have them then a raid
-
I'm very much enjoying the content, there's a lot more to do here than in TDB, and it will keep me occupied for a while. The hunt bounties plus Crota's Bane plus Vanguard bounties means I'll have lots of field work and lots of xp for my gear :) and I'll probably try Crucible more now that the drops are up
-
Better overall compared to dark below. Really like VoG part.

2 RepliesEdited by vox-ab: 5/20/2015 3:20:24 AMDon't even ask that question today, come back in a week or two. People are too excited for a legit answer right now imo.

I'm in the middle about it. I played through the story and beat it. It was fun, it felt there was more they could do and add to the story. New weapon type is fun to use, they essentially give you a raid level legendary special weapon to kill fallen easier. Being able to bring my old armor up to the max level is good. Being able to use all armors to get to max level is good I could not find a new chest piece for my handcannon set sadly as a Titan as everybody is repping for team Pulse Rifles The new exotics look cool, not to thrilled about the Titan armor ones though as they don't add anything new or better then the ones we already have. The new PvP maps are interesting, it's going to take a while to get use to them even though I'm not use to the dark below ones yet. The strike, holy crap is fallen everywhere. The strike being the nightfall, way to many arc burners. ouch. The new game modes look interesting. Prison of Elders looks like it's going to be cool, just wish you didn't need keys for the chest at the end. Trials of Osiris is going to be so broken with everybody spamming instant kills. So, could be better...but it's a better improvement then Dark Below. It does not have an ending cutscene with you in the reef, with the queen standing trial over Skolas sadly.

Why don't you connect your forum account with your game account so we can see if this truly is a reverent question, or if you're trolling?

HoW is a big step in the right direction. They did really good on this one
-
2 RepliesMeh. It's more or less exactly the same as the last dlc except now it's fallen themed and not hive and replace the raid with prison of elders. Literally. Well I guess there's the new secondary pistols which basically act as short range fast firing scout rifles... Not sure if trials of Osiris is dlc only... But that's just pvp that rewards you with fancy unique looking equipment. Other than that what you get is more or less exactly the same as the last dlc. Which unless you actually try to collect everything and get the best perks and such amounts to about a couple of days or so to a week of content. Or just a few hours if you go through it all once.

1 ReplyEdited by BangerZDeViL: 5/20/2015 5:33:16 AMThis was a pretty good release. Much better than the dark below - although with the stuff we are getting I think it's priced to steeply. But then again Bungie needs to pay their bills and I have logged 800 hours in this game and thanks to this expansion I will log a ridiculous amount more. So overall - in terms of value for money due to the time I play this vs the cost - I get it. Content wise - new gear, weapons, weapon class (loving the side arm - although my controller is not) enemies and a horde mode makes this a pretty good expansion. A raid would really have been the icing on the cake for it BUT I would rather not get a half assed raid like scrotum - so raid less is fine if that's the best they would have done. Prison of elders - only managed to play upto the level 32 one so far. It's honestly just a firefight which they designed for ODST. So nothing surprising and new. Just endless leveled enemies to kill. Story - seems like usual most of the story is buried in the grimoire. I honestly wish Bungie sorted this out so I didn't have to read it. Story missions - short - and I expected that. Bounties are there to circumvent small story and to ensure grinding. TL:DR version Story: locked in grimoire Story missions: few - disappointing Story bounties: a lot of fun Weapons / gear: very cool. Hunters get shafted on exotics as usual POE - glorified firefight. Fun tho Weapon reforging: awesome Value for money: definitely Will I continue to play - yes Bungie u have a sucker here.

119 RepliesEdited by Coyote_x_Starrk: 5/20/2015 2:40:16 AMWon't even be coming back for comet. HoW is a pathetic excuse for a DLC. $20? - No meaningful new storyline progression - No new cutscenes. - A handful of new weapons and gear - A glorified Iron Banner event - A glorified horde mode - No new raid - No new areas to explore - No new planets Are you serious Bungie? 1/3rd of a full priced game for 5% worth of the content? Meanwhile I can pay $47 and get Witcher 3 which has ACTUAL story and lore. ACTUAL character development. ACTUAL weapon variety. ACTUAL dialogue. Yeah I will pass and spend my money on something that is actually worth the money that is being asked for.
-
To sum it all up yes it is worth it
-
2 RepliesMuch better than TDB. Added some slightly different enemies, better upgrade paths, much better economy and a new special weapon. This game is done though, not much else you can do. Hopefully bungie has learned and listened and will bring something bigger and better for next gen. Until then, I'll be playing this until the boredom makes it's way back. It's heading in the right direction, but without a stronger story, a more diverse character customization, and the massive open world this game deserves, this game will continue to fall flat. Overall, I'll give it a 8/10.

I was overwhelmed by things to do yesterday, still haven't started anything on 3rd character or even cashed in my packages or engrams yet. It's great imo

Where is the "this expansion is -blam!-ing awesome " option?

I'm loving the new npcs so far, its a refreshing change from dinklebot.
