Armor then hawk moon, although it takes forever already for my hawk moon to get experience

I think you may have to reach the last upgrade before ascending. I am not sure though.

Damn. It woulda been fully upgraded by now if I hadn't taken such a long break from this game

Me too buddy I just left my hawkmoon at the holding aces perk. Thought tbh I would advise against using that in PoE. Its really more of a pvp weapon.

It's good in pvp till you run into shielded enemies, which is when I use my found verdict lol. But never in night falls as I use other exotics for burns
