**I am not commenting on anyone's creativity, I am merely analyzing something from within the game's universe**
The only creatures we know of on Earth that can continue to grow endlessly are crustaceans like lobsters, which can grow continuously if they're not killed by something. I know it all breaks down to "space magic", but I've been confused since launch why Archons and Kells would stand twice or three times the height of their captain and vandal counterparts. I struggle to understand the Cabal for this reason as well, but at least most of their command aren't as substantially bigger than their underlings. It makes sense that the Hive would use their dark processes to spawn larger creatures. They are, after all, trans-dimensional beings from a different plane of existence. The Vex could also would build larger platforms for their AI, and it would make sense that they would continue to build platforms in similar styles.
I guess when it comes down to it, the Fallen are crustaceans.
Guys, the fallen are Crab People... :-)

What the hell did I just read

I always assumed that Fallen grow very large with age. That pretty much any ol' Vandal could become as huge as an Archon or a Kell. The older the Fallen, the higher the rank. For example, fallen ranks go like this: Dreg -> Vandal -> Captain -> Baron -> Archon -> Kell (or something like that). Dregs are smaller than Vandals, Vandals are smaller than Captains, Captains are smaller than Archons and Kells. Archons and Kells are presumable the same or very similar heights. Basically, its not that Fallen are on super-steroids, its probably just that Fallen can naturally grow VERY large. Achieving this height probably takes incredibly long, and it might be that some Fallen die before they can reach that goal. What I want to know is the Fallen history. Obviously they aren't called Fallen, so whats their actual name as a species? What is their culture like? I want to know everything. Customs, beliefs, religion(s), architecture, etc etc.
By the way, as far as religion, I know they look up to the Prime Servitors as gods. But I want to know why. Why worship a machine? Especially if they can be so easily killed by guardians.
I think I saw mentioned somewhere that most of the Fallen civilization was wiped out, but have you seen their technology? They had to have had cities at some point. Imagine a Fallen City! . And what of the Fallen homeworld? Surely it hasn't been completely obliterated. Why haven't the Fallen left? They've looted, pillaged, destroyed our world and nearly extinguished our general hope. They have what they came for, so why do they persist in this war? The Queen had more than enough time to study all of these things. Fallen are such an interesting race, and despite their hate for us, seem the most relatable to humans. They aren't mindless killing machines, they have a cause. And that cause isn't just "kill the guardians". While I can't respect the reason they're fighting us, I can respect that they have one. Bungie, I beg of you: please add Grimoire giving background information to all the races! There isn't enough of it!

They get the good stock of ether.
-
I'm positive that it's covered in the Grimior.
-
I read somewhere. ..maybe the flavor text of the new exotics in HOW. It said something about dregs and vandals taking a sip of ether but captains and archons always get their fill.
-
Its because they take their vitamins and say their prayers - just like the Hulkster.
-
It's the ether rations they get guys. Archons and Kells get the largest ether rations of all the fallen and it causes them to severely outsize and outclass other fallen

Edited by Ronin Tanuki: 5/18/2015 12:58:47 PMMaybe all Fallen posses indeterminate growth, like lobsters. Much like lobsters, however, few live long enough to reach ginormous sizes.

Honestly its in cards Its basic nutrition The higher ranking fallen get more ether share therefore grow to be big and strong sanheli i mean fallen

2 RepliesEdited by RDSFirebane: 5/18/2015 12:37:10 PMSeeing as they cut dregs arms off and cap them it wouldn't be to far fetched to guess that the higher ranked ones not only get to keep their arms but have access to better quality food, water, ect. It could also be that at a certain point they medically force a second Growth phase. To be perfectly honest it could be any number of things when your dealing with a universe where the dead are brought back to life to fight alien invaders that were brought here by what is described as a hostile light spectrum.

They work out

Because ant logic

I guess the Servitors who deem certain Dregs or fallen worthy just start pumping then full of that Ether stuff. It's kinda like steroids. Without it they would die.

Steriods

Edited by John6Max4: 5/18/2015 12:48:33 PMhttp://m.imgur.com/r/funny/HkPOzEH Thought it probably has something to do with ether and the extended lifespan a skilled fallen enemy would have
-
I would assume genetic enhancements or cybertech. Much like our Titans.
-
It has to do with the amount of ether the servitors give out. The higher your ranking, the more ether you are allowed to get. Guess ether is like steroids.
-
1 ReplyMaybe they just keep growing as they age, and only the strongest survive long enough to get that large. All I can think of that makes sense really, Fallen society is a violent and chaotic thing. Lots of fighting and death.
-
Something to do with their substance called ether. There's something with a HoW exotic bounty that references a Kell taking a large amount of ether and growing large. If that makes no sense, disregard and don't mind me, I should still be in bed I'm burning up.
