*A man wearing a gas mask looks for Schrader, wheeling around in a Victorian age wheelchair*
English
-
*a Humvee rolls up, several soldiers step out, along with a man in a white pinstriped suit, wearing a pair of black aviators.* Well, well, well. Look what showed up on the doorstep. I assume you want to talk?
-
*holds up a paper* I am not really one for talking at the moment... I'm here to listen to your proposal. You know I have nothing left. My family, forsaking me. My brothers and sisters, shunning me.
-
*stifles a smile* Why don't we take a little drive? *soldiers step aside as I climb behind the wheel. One comes over and gently lifts you into the humvee's backseat. He closes he door, and the soldiers leave*
-
*a few moments after we've entered the humvee, I take off my gas mask to reveal my face *passing another note to you* Do what you do best, Mr. Schrader. Convince me. Turn all my hatred and bitterness into something worth it.
-
Oh I'm not here to toy with your emotions, Phoenix. I'm here to give you a chance, because let's face it, what other options do you have? Down Under's a cesspool of thugs and low-lifes, the Dojo is never going to accept you again after what you did. The sad part is that they don't realize how much of a leader they lost, how much of a friend they drove away. So here you are, talking to me. Funny how things change, isn't it? Anyway, let's get that back of yours fixed. I've got a little surprise for you. *humvee pulls up to a large, low building behind all the hangars and other buildings. I step out, and motion for a soldier to come over. He comes over, and. Lifts you out of the humvee and sets you in your wheelchair.* Follow me. *two soldiers open the doors to the building, as I gesture for you to enter*
-
*I wheel over and follow you, my lips set in a grim, thin line*
-
*as you wheel in, I follow, and the steel doors are closed and locked behind us. You see before you a large operating table and what appears to be a large exosuit* My hunter had told me about that little back problem of yours. I must say, quite a handicap. We've had several soldiers suffer spinal injury from combat, and so, we've been testing out synthetic neural implants to allow them yo walk again. We've been able to construct a spine out of titanium alloy with neural uplinks, which would mimic the real spine that you've lost. You would be able to walk, to move again just as you could before. We've also discovered that we can rig the neural interface into the mainframe of an exosuit. I've been designing something particularly for you, a suit to parallel your little ability.
-
*taking some time to think, I cast my eyes down and think of what that place has done to me, crippling me, shunning me, and finally, forsaking me* *I look up at you with a new look in my eyes, one which shows that I am ready to get rid of the horrid reminders of that place* *quickly scribbling down on a piece of paper, I hand it to you once more* Do. It.
-
*smiles, as several doctors come into the room. A soldier lifts you onto the table, rolls you onto your stomach, and hooks an IV up to you. You soon pass out, as the doctors begin work on your spine. About 4 hours later, you wake up on a cot in a huge open hangar, and see an exosuit in a mounting bracket*
the suit is black with cobalt accents, has two katana sheathes on the back of it, two wrist mounted flamethrowers for your powers, and a holster for your pistols.
*you feel a hand on your shoulder* Get up. Get in it.
-
*getting up from the table and testing my newfound vertebrate, I walk silently to the suit and get into it*
-
Edited by Venom Schrader: 5/17/2015 3:23:06 PM*it forms around you, like an Iron Man suit, however, as it boots up, you fell physically connected to it, as if it was a part of your body. You feel your ash connecting with the suit, bonding with the weapons mainframe. Your mind begin to process this new found body, and the HUD uplink comes on, as you know see your surroundings*
tried to find something bulky but maneuverable. Hope you like the suit
-
You're damn right I do.
*for the first time in a long while, I feel free and unrestricted, not weighed down by my traitorous brothers and sisters anymore* *I go to my backpack and retrieve my mechanical sheath, and attach it to my waist* *withdrawing the sword that rested within it, I gaze at it through my HUD, seeing how small and insignificant it is now* *I break it over my knee without remorse and stare at you, a silent gesture of thanks*
-
Edited by Venom Schrader: 5/17/2015 3:36:08 PMIf you really care, we can get you a speech box, but I kind of enjoy the silence... More, threatening. And if you need any weapons in particular, let me know.
-
*I shake my head and bow to you in respect, grabbing the wheelchair and wandering out of the bunker*
-
*smiles, pulls out cigar and lights it* *laughs calmly to self*
