* Begin Edit *
I'd like to clear up the misconceptions about why I'm posting this. There are tons of comments about how PvP players are crybabies, asking for nerfs, impacting PvE players, etc.
The facts just don't support this. As hard as it is to believe, it seems that most people who start nerf threads are players who PRIMARILY play PvE.
The question is why? Maybe they don't think about consequences. Maybe they are just raging / knee-jerk reaction to a bad session.
At any rate, the point of this post is to stop all the hate for "PvP Crybabies". The crybabies aren't PvP-specific. That is the point. Stop blaming PvP players and start blaming rage quitters.
* End Edit *
As a response to a different thread... I did an informal gathering session on "nerf threads" to see what kind of player the OP was.
I would typically look at the various graphs for each character type and see how they spend most of their time:
Raids + Strikes + Patrol
vs.
Crucible
I tried to ignore Story unless it was just outrageous.
I went back 9 pages... but the pages refresh quite a bit.
It looks like MOST of them (in this small sample set) are created primarily PvE players.
Here are my stats as a reference point... I'm obviously skewed WAY towards Crucible.
Here are my stats (I play Crucible almost 100% of the time):

But most "nerf thread" creators play Crucible LESS than any other single gametype but almost ALWAYS less than the PvE gametypes combined.

This one is great. This dude has spent about a MONTH in raids.

And this guy just complains about everything.... not sure what he is asking for a nerf on:

Welp, it took me 9 pages, but I FINALLY found one that borderline doesn't fit my theory.
This guy has 2 chars with more PvP games than PvE games.... EXCEPT FOR HIS MAIN... but I'll still give you credit... despite his combined chars' time probably still amounts to more PvE than PvP... but hey, it took 9 pages to find a borderline example.

4 RepliesPvP crybabies want to blame PvE crybabies and vice versa. Realistically crybabies are just crybabies, period. My stance is post your thoughts on weapons and ask for balance rather than crying that a specific weapon, or weapon type needs a nerf or buff. For examples: The combination of hunter with an exotic hand cannon causes them to have an unfair advantage. Or Titans with shotguns are too weak as they can't close the distance. Etc. Keep in mind these are just examples and are not my opinions. I took a break from a game that was seriously lacking content at launch and had terrible PvP. When HoW releases I intend to give every aspect of the game a new and fresh look(wife bought me expansion pass at launch as a gift). I will start a new character/campaign and see if what they have added to date is reason enough for me to call it a worthwhile investment. From what I read on the forums balance is an issue and Bungie seems to be responding to these 'crybabies' instead of relying on their own stats to determine balance in PvP. Of course I'm not an employee and don't have their resources so that's just from what I see on these rather toxic forums. I am on the PS4, but have a fairly limited gaming schedule but anyone who wants to join me in a fresh look is more than welcome to send me a request on psn. Just title the message 'Fresh start with HoW'.
