Why do people who suck at PvP, even play PvP?

I'm honestly trying to figure out why people like this play Crucible? Do we need a ranking system or something? I'm more disappointed in the amount of games so far I've lost because the team I get put in can't get above 10 kills. So glad you damn randoms can't go into ToO and get carried like this.
How are you guys saying "To have fun."
I don't think getting killed frequently is fun... getting kills is, dying isnt.

Seeing as you guys speak of bounties and exotic bounties (thorn) it still doesn't answer my question about the other players who go into pvp for non-bounty related reasons. Sure you want to play PvP instead of PvE but they should at least have something to separate the Good players vs the bad. Seeing as they can't even separate the players with bad connection with the good connection players. I'm TIRED of playing with someone who is shooting a wall and magically kills me.
Some of you guys reply with out even reading the whole thing, I doubt you guys will see this as well.

I play PvP when the game forces me too. Exotic bounties, and getting etheric light on the first iron banner. When I play PvP I play in the most self centered way. I'll take heavy ammo as soon as I can, I'll camp for kills when I did the Thorn bounty, etc. Sometimes this works out well for the team, sometimes not so much. I won't apologize though. When you are going to force me to to do something I hate, and punish me if I do badly, well I have no choice.

How else are you suppose to keep your K/D ratio up if we aren't there? You'll actually have to play against good players. The horror. Will someone think of the K/D ratio?

Why fo folk buy a guitar when they can't play one, why do drivers have to pass a test, why do children go to school, why was the question mark invented? Because none if us are born preprogrammed and we have to learn, learn at different speeds and find our own level of skill and competency. Destiny is a product which we all paid for and play at our various levels of capability. And that's that really. If that concept feels wrong to a participant I think involvement in a game open the wider world and all that comes with it may not be for them.

Some of us play crucible to get better at it. It's just as frustrating to be one of those players that keeps dying. If it really bothers you that much you should play trials or get together a full team for one of the other crucible modes.

Because the game has been forcing people to play PVP since launch. Wanna buy shit from faction vendors? Play PVP. Want the year 1 emblem? Play PVP? Want to complete some of the exotic bounties? Play PVP. Want etheric light? Play PVP.

1 ReplyI don't wanna be in your pvp mister. In fact I'd be happy to never set foot in the crucible. But according to Bungie I'm not a true year 1 player unless I do so for 100 wins. On top of that they've chosen to put the only means of guaranteed etheric light for solo players in the banner. Did I also mention that the only way in this xpac to get primaries with burns (that have no use in pvp) is to go through the pvp setup designed for the best of the best or lag switchers of the best? Yeah, loads of us don't want to pvp. But the community will call us names when we try to point these things out and so the inner nerd needs to pull out his epeen and prove we can "earn" our rewards like the rest of the toxic CoD fans who migrated over here. So we begrudgingly move into you bubble and ruin your experience with the game. Not because we're bad people motivated to ruin other people's gaming experience but because we're forced to just so we can move forward with our gaming experience that Bungie has dictated that we must play the way they want us to play.

Because Bungie requires players to do so for any number reasons from weapon drops that are exclusive to crucible to completing the triumphs emblem. Don't like it? Complain to Bungie. It's their dumb idea.
