After spending almost the entire night hunting on the Wolves, and in spite of always non-stop blasting into them with a MIDA and legendary-level specials and heavies with a lvl-31 character, every time I've only just been able to start on the final major boss and the Wolfies get bored and leave.
It definitely looks like it's only possible if (a) non-solo'ing, or (b) lvl 32? Is that the experience of other people?

Nonsense I've soloed them so have many others

1 ReplyJust an update on the situation-- I /have/ now managed to complete 2 solo events-- out of about 14-16 attempts. (The other 5 completed when others were around, occurring just as the moon came into phase and the NAT decided to work properly. And I _have_ been using Arc weapons! I've got 4 Arc Secret Handshakes...) The situation was a fluke, though-- I'd been bountying in the Citadel for a while, and took note of where the ammo fell, and I'd popped a Special weapon replenisher just as the event started (..trying to do so during the heat of battle just gives me a blank screen for 10+ seconds!) ... And on completion, I managed to find a chest... that told me I didn't have a key! (Fortunately I'd just bought my TV for $1300, so it didn't get a controller thrown through it!) So, the reason this was posted in #Balance in the first place was to try to point out that the Ammo drop rate during Wolf events isn't sufficient for us Vanillapleb Soloers... (Not that it matters now-- the gameworld update tonight seems to have thrown out 50% of the game for us VPs. Well, back to just playing the Space Invaders Bounties like before...)

I haven't even had to attempt to solo it. There's always other people around.
-
Save the scorch cannons for the last guy and unload on him at the end. Use arc weapons during the fight. You don't have to be 32 to defeat them.
-
1 ReplyDepends on the dude. I can definitely imagine that the hyper-regenerating arc captains would be a real pain in the ass, but I definitely think the super-cloaked captains and the dregs (lol) are definitely killable. It helps a ton to have other people around though, whether they are randoms or a full fireteam of six (Super Patrol on Venus for the win!).
-
Now you can get 32 as a vanilla.
-
Yeah, I wasn't able to complete the bounties solo. But I also didn't need to put together a fireteam. More often than not, other players were already in the area so everyone just unloaded on the wolves and got it done.
-
I had some trouble alone also. But was able to complete them for all 3 guardians, with some help from others in the public space (I.e. not part of my fireteam).
-
Buy the expansions
-
Scortch and gally did it for me
-
Not impossible. Hard it sure, but not impossible. I did it yesterday, wanted to get the bounties done before HoW dropped. Nobody was around though. So I just did it myself. Pro tip. Use an arc shotgun. The vendor version of secret handshake (if its still around) was great.

2 RepliesEdited by l AM LEG1ON: 5/19/2015 5:50:24 PMTip 1. Exotic Primaries in PvE are not worth it. You are far better off Equipping G-horn, or Truth or a Secondary Exotic. This alone will help you tremendously. Tip 2. Destiny is a MULTI-PLAYER game. I have never not had someone to play with, you can sit in the tower and find teammates or use LFG, or these forums. The DLC is mostly endgame content meant to be beat by fireteams of level 30+ Guardians. If you want to be a lone wolf play lone wolf activities. Here is a little thought also, if they make it easy enough to solo, it will ruin the challenge of it, because most of us who are going to beat it will beat it with friends. If you can solo it with your trash multi tool, me and my buddies can beat it standing still with our g-horns. You are basically just asking Bungie to dumb the game down so you can solo it and then the majority of the comunity will find it a waste of time, quit feeling entitled and play the game it was meant to be played, or by the witcher 3 its a great single player game.

Scorch cannons are pretty effective against them, also don't forget the enemies are level 30 so they are definitily a challenge to a level 31, luckily you can hit 34 with that legendary gear now
-
I solo'd it with a level 29 warlock leveling up new gear. You just need to use the right weapons, and focus on certain enemies as they drop.
-
1 Replyps: you sound like a self entitled pre pubecent twat.
-
The citadel, Skywatch, and Archers line bounties are the easiest to do alone. 2 Dregs and a Servitor. The Captains get their shields back too quickly and take a long time to take down, they're really tough to do alone. I used invective, song of ir Yut, and a found verdict and still couldn't kill the one in anchors of light. I'm surprised you didn't run into other random guardians doing them as well, half the time I do them I end up having 6 other people there too.
-
I had that problem until i got out my black hammer
-
Voidwalker with an Invective gets the job done. Helps to have shatter and bloom on
-
If you are a lvl 30 you can do just fine by yourself. Save those scorch cannons for the last 2 rounds and play super defensive.
-
I've done it solo on my mostly extra vault space lvl 30 Warlock and knocked out most bounties by myself, it's not hard!
-
Play with other people maybe ? Also im usually 30-31 when doing shit cuz im leveling gear... so yeah possible to solo. Get rid of MiDa
-
Edited by dbcrighton: 5/18/2015 4:30:52 PMdid you not buy a thunderlord from xur this past weekend? because mida is weak like throwing meatballs and not arc.
-
The MIDA has always been weak against majors and ultras. It is a reliable weapon but lacks punch. Besides, you need to bring your best arc damage weapons. Murmur is ok but fusion rifles are not the best when it comes to sustained damage. An arc shotgun makes a world of difference. You are using the wrong tools for the job. That's why you can't solo those events.
-
So you never bought Dark Below right? Do the vendors sell pre-DLC gear or not?
-
They cap at lvl 30... Being 32 gives you no advantage.
