Anyone have Pre-Dark Below Vanguard/Crucible weapons? I have a Zombie Apocalypse with great perks and a Vanguard scout rifle with mulligan and firefly. There is a secret to still being able to get them currently. There are two types of engrams. They will decode into previous or current gear. The way you can tell is by the description. Pre DLC engrams: Decoherent: [i]The Cryptarch in the Tower may be able to decrypt this object and reveal its contents.[/i] Legendary: [i]A matter engram of [b]remarkable potency.[/b] the Cryptarch can decrypt this into a piece of armor. [/i] Dark Below engrams: Vice Versa. Any engram that is from vanilla Destiny will turn into a vanilla weapon/armor. If your lucky. The only definitive sources I know for these engrams are Tiger strikes, however they only reward decoherent armor, I am unsure if they drop legendaries anymore.
