Over voice chat, how can Microsoft confirm this and punish accordingly? I just played a raid with a guy who kept calling a member of our fireteam a 'n*gger'. And not in a 'we are acquainted ' kind of way.
I can't help but laugh at a lot of responses here. I said if. I didn't report him, and I won't. In my replies I said I understand people say it's freedom of speech, and they remind me just what the Internet is.
I simply asked how it's addressed, sorry if you choose to jump on it like a bitch in heat.
I also must say, this thread has revitalised my faith in this community. I'm reading as much as I can but not replying: some here seem rather intelligent. It's nice to see.
Final edit. Sorry I haven't responded to all. Some posts pissed me right off.

Lol people who this is freedom of speech are so ignorant

I played with players who were racist. Finished the match Reported them

To legitimately answer your question. If a user gets reported enough times a admin will look into it perhaps playing in the users game and has the ability to hear what they're saying regardless of if their in the sane group or not. If the reports are true then the admin will make a decision on if a punishment is needed.

36 RepliesEdited by TheSpaceGeneral: 5/16/2015 1:45:20 AMAwwww. The mean word hurt your feelings. By the way, racism is like gayness. It's not a choice, you're just born that way. Wonder why the excuses for racism are BS? It's because people can't provide a tangible reason for their behaviour since it isn't their own, they were simply born that way. BTW: according to the world, white=racist.

3 RepliesWell regardless - I know a group where slurs don't fly. Don't want to have to deal with slurs from complete strangers feeling brave over the internet? We're a small adult (18+ strictly) clan focused on community quality and diversity with an enforced CoC to protect our members from garbage like that ^^^^.

They probably won't do anything because they're just as worthless as gamer rep was on 360

Edited by ZombieKami: 5/16/2015 11:16:03 PMI hate how quickly people are to bring freedom of speech. It bothers me because they know that they would respond with spitefulness if someone said something they didn't like. Whether it be to them or someone they care about, saying mean things isn't instantly made ok by the freedom of speech. Yes, it allows you to be an asshole, but that doesn't mean that you should be.

Get yourself a box of tissues, you seem a little sensitive today.

Edited by Ostensibly: 5/16/2015 8:44:33 PMRacism is a primitive and worthless behavior. I can and will immediately look down on a racist. But making someone else with power shut them up is comparable to bottling up rage. It'll make them resent you even more and exacerbate the issue. When they decide to get with the times and treat other humans with basic human respect then they will stop. If they don't then good riddance to their genes.

As a side note reddit is changing their harassment rules. http://www.redditblog.com/2015/05/promote-ideas-protect-people.html?m=1

2 RepliesDon't report him. I'm sick of that stupid thing on Xbox. Don't be a snitch. He's clearly an idiot so just mute him and ignore. You may not like what he's saying, but I still believe that people have the right to say whatever they want. Reporting him isn't going to immediately enlighten him and make him change his ways. Hodor.

Thanks for this post, I've managed to mute so many idiots in one go and save myself a lot of time later. It's a very efficient method to highlight stupidity. #MuteFest2015

7 RepliesI have some black friends and they say the "er" is what makes it extremely racist and offensive. The word "n*gga" is not offensive at all to them. Just some food for thought.
-
3 RepliesWOAH WOAH WOAH, since when was being racist freedom of speech???? If someone is racist and someone yells at them. You don't say it's okay because people have freedom of speech. That's why I can't stand half the vines out there....
-
10 RepliesYou can report him if you want but they are just words. Boot him and move on. I no way condone racist comments but according some select black people, white people are the racist. So I must be a racist?!?
-
5 RepliesRacist comments do not coincide with freedom of speech...
-
1 ReplyJust gotta toughen up dude... If its any consolation most racists are short-sighted, uneducated buffoons.

He needs to a habitual racist to get the ban hammer, bro.

I'm utterly shocked that there was a child on XBL...

3 RepliesIts pure ignorance. To me that word means ignorant. Saying that word means your ignorant. And if you want to be an a** dont do it around me. Report him, and hopefully others will do the same.
-
Just tell him it's not cool then kick him
-
16 RepliesThey can't. Grow a thicker skin. It's silly double standards like the one around that word that keeps racism alive.
-
4 RepliesMan up kid. It's just WORDS

I was helping my friend do the bounties yesterday and his friend joined and they kept calling each other it, saying it didn't make them any smarter in my eyes
