Ever done atheon fight with a hunter who has any idea of how to use gg effectively?

It's always fun being in the portal when the guy says "we're behind on oracles" then you just use GG and blow them apart like "not anymore"

It's really sad when a Hunter uses their GG on Atheon.

You don't even have a hunter... You know that during time's vengeance supers continuously recharge right? You can hit Atheon with 4 GG shots in 2 seconds and go back to firing your sniper and have full super again before the next teleport (if your group sucks too hard to kill him in one portal run).

Had a Hunter. Just about twice as many kills compared to yours in fact.

And that matters how? The math doesn't change run to run you know. Icebreaker is still the #1 damage to his critical spot and GG can unload it's full 4 shots without aiming for crit faster than VoC can land 3 hits. I'm just saying...try it (if you still had a hunter).

I always use Icebreaker. When I ran out of IB shots I switch to Corrective Measure. Even when I had my Hunter. Same deal

Corrective measure also requires aiming. All i'm saying is you can pop those 4 shots off incredibly quickly and switch to any other weapon. It's a free 5k that nothing will outdamage in the same period of time if you know how to quickswitch quickly. There's NO drawback to doing it - and sure, things like BlackHammer are the better overall option assuming you have one, but there's no way in hell i could consider a hunter doing a quick 5k additional "facepalm" Now if they use their super continually on Atheon as a main damage source instead of a filler between weapon switches I could agree.

Good point, and I should have known someone would bring that up. I am a filthy peasant that has not been graced by the RNG gods yet to have a black hammer despite my many crota runs. Hell, I have EVERY single other CE raid gun (some cases multiples), but a few friends have told me the power of black hammer on atheon. Suffice to say, done correctly if i'm not mistaken you'll never stop firing provided you continuously land crits. That being the case, there is no "recharge" meaning no time to pop GG real quick and sticking with your sniper would obviously be your best bet.

I didn't read everything you've posted but to my knowledge GG doesn't get a massive damage amp like weapons do. I used my shots on supplicants as the timer got below 10 the few times I ran VoG on my hunter. Seems like a more efficient use of Time's Vengeance. Clear the adds so gate holders wont die when detained or running to the pillar. The 4-5 k damage total you're doing with 3-4 shots isn't really doing much to help kill aetheon faster, unless it actually is affected by Time's Vengeance and does around 20k a shot. [I seriously don't remember how high damage amps, it's been a few weeks since I've raided]

If they use GG to kill oracles that's fine, If however they start shooting Atheon with it, I facepalm.

Rinse/Repeat Tell me again how that's "facepalm"? Should I instead stand there waiting for icebreaker to refill and lessen total DPS? Should I be that idiot that throws grenades to make atheon move while icebreaker is recharging? Better yet, you suggest I jump up out of the bubble to toss a rocket at Atheon and potentially get hit by an unlucky shot and lessen the team's chance of dropping him quick? Please, tell me again how GG is "facepalm" against Atheon. How is an additional 5k that can be fired off in less than 2 seconds "facepalm" in that fight?

No you should swap t your primary and keep shooting. A scout rifle will do more damage per shot than your useless GG will and you can fire more of them. When you want to learn how to play the game let me know

Because you can switch to your primary faster, and VoC does more dmg than gg and u can get more shots off. So yes gg on atheon is facepalm....

It's not possible Why would anyone waste infinite super and use their primary? 2 seconds yields 5k damage depending on whether or not you're wearing the right helm. Seriously, just try it once. Fire 6 icebreaker shots, unload your GG, and go back to icebreaker. You don't even have to hit his critical spot with the GG, just hip fire unload.

Do this than, only fire your goldengun all of T.V. and I'll fire only VoC and see who dps more..... If you trully think you can fire 27 gg rounds faster than I can hold down RT with my Vision of Confluence you my friend are fishing.

They can clear every supplicant in the last 5 secs of times vengeance plus the oracles you already mentioned.
