Last night we spent two hours at it and got past Ogres twice, tried changing hosts back to orbit and nothing changed. Had the full compliment of glitches with Crota rotating after about 20 seconds being the most common one. We saw a new one though, Ogre comes out of the door, gets smashed to a sliver of health then walks back through it then comes back out on the other side of the map and wipes out 2 people who never saw it with his blast :D
One time we got past the ogres someone was miles behind running out so we missed the oversoul, second Crota rotated after first sword

Sounds to me like your crew doesn't know what they're doing and have some difficulty with perceiving time and objects' movement through a virtual space.
