Bungie should reset stats when House of Wolves releases
Now bear with me, I realize that some of you may be distraught at the idea of the couple hours you've play Destiny going to waste, but realistically, it's the most sensible thing to do at this point. It's like, if you're going to reuse a condom, you have to at least dump out the residue from the previous time. I mean hell, I've been on the same rubber for 2 weeks with my cousin, but I digress.
The population decline of Destiny is very apparent, especially seeing how only 100k people watched the reveal. I mean, 100k people really isn't that much, Hitler killed like over 40 million and he still didn't kill most of the world. The big and bad level 32's can be intimidating to someone who has a job and isn't that high of a level yet, so really to make the new DLC inviting to newer players, and veteran players who work for a living, it makes sense to bring everyone back to zero. I mean, how would you like it if you couldn't spend every waking hour playing a game so you didn't have the coolest gear?
Also, at this point in the game, a lot of the gear has been gotten by cheating, I think we all remember the shenanigans of pushing Aristotle off the side of the cliff. It's like, when Jeff Gordon got caught smoking crack, the NFL had to banish him, it was simply unfair to the other players. But Bungie didn't do that, similar to the whole "pleading the fifth" bullshit guilty people have been doing for years. Well now, I think it's fair to say, that as Bungie begins to mature from the baby company it was, under the great hands of Activision, it can put a stop to this imbalance. If they fixed all the glitches, reset everyone's stats, it really would make most of the fan base happier.
Who else thinks they should reset the stats? Objectively speaking, it would really make the entire House of Wolves experience at least 300% better.

Bungie would lose half the player base that is left if they did that. HoW is easy for a reason. To allow the lower level guys a chance to catch up. I believe Bungie is trying to get as many people to play end game as possible. They want to fix the issues that they have and move on to the next step with Destiny.

I play Destiny all day every day and have since the release. Every waking minute of me being awake is to play this game. I fall asleep with the controller in my fat rolls and when my mom comes to clean the spit off my face and roll me to clean the shit from my underwear and make sure I don't have bed sores, I start playing it again. I'd support your statement, wholeheartedly. I just started getting bored and it would finally let me hit that grand slam from half court.

You fail to take into account: -kids at school -college students in class - adults at work - people who didn't know about it - people who don't participate in the destiny community - people who have no idea what twitch is - people who weren't interested For a stream between 10am-2pm in the United States, 100,000 viewers is a lot. I don't think the destiny decline is as large as you think.

To believe that everybody who has gear cheated for it is ridiculous. That's just like saying that everybody who has more than $1 as a 5 year old stole it from the bank down the street.

Now we know that you guys just loved having to redo all exotic upgrades and grinding for new gear instead of a way to upgrade it painlessly. Therefore we had this brilliant idea! In the common interest of fairness and equality for all players, when HoW drops you ALL get to start at Level 1 and lose every item you've played countless hours for! If my stats were reset I'd quit this game. I had to reset my weapons & gear when TDB dropped, if I hadn't had surgery & received 30 days off I would have quit. If HoW required a reset like before I'd turn my back, just like 90% of my friends already have.
