You're right. How could I have ever thought that a mission where you kill 3 of the 4 princes with a sword would ever help someone with their sword skills....

I know. Your logic is terrible. Killing the princes is simple as it gets and the mechanics of that are child's play. Nothing about it correlates to running sword for crota, besides smashing r2. You learn to run sword on crota by... running sword on crota.

I run sword every week lol. Flawlessly. A regular type knight has no relevance to crota, a point you tried to make. Crota is a knight yes, but functions like crota.. not a knight. Has a shield you can't damage with your sword. Shoots wizard shit. Will 1 shot you. Baiting princes around a room and smashing them in no way prepares you for what happens while running sword for crota, or any strategy involved with it. Good day sir

Oh man it took me less than 12 raids to figure out how to use a sword on Crota. Please don't call the police. If I run the sword with my hunter then why would I need to level up my other characters? Also just a little advice never assume anything.

Your advice is why I know you're a new-ish player, but your low level of raid completions just further validates it. Also, all 12 aren't crota, some are vog. Stop trolling, and if you arent, don't offer your $.02 if you don't have it to give it

Okay.. I thought my previous comments covered this. Let me ask you a couple of questions. What do you do towards the end of the Sword of Crota mission? You kill knights (as well as other enemies) with a sword, right? That is something we can both agree on. So you get a feel for how the sword works. RB for slash and RT for smash. You can only hit them a certain amount of times before they strike back. Now take that mission out and all other instances of using the sword and go through the raid. You get to Crota pick up the sword and.......how do you use it? Have you had previous knowledge of it? Not if you don't do the missions I stated. It wouldn't be impossible to figure out as you play. As you stated before the best way to run sword on Crota is to run sword on Crota. But thanks to earlier missions you don't have to do it that way. I'm not saying the princes are the same thing as Crota, that they have shields the sword can't penetrate. What I am saying though is it helps you learn how the sword operates so you're not completely in the dark (pun intended) when you face Crota. The same thing can be said about the relic in VOG. Do you use the relic the same way for the Templar as you do for Atheon? No, but it does give you a feel for how it operates. So you have a better chance going in to the final boss fight. Could you defeat Atheon without first fighting the Templar? Sure, the developers could have left that part out completely. Similarly could you defeat Crota without previously handling the sword? Absolutely. It might take a little bit to figure it out but it can be done. Obviously.
