Matchmaking privileges MUST be EQUAL for coop players. Customers seriously being cheated. Can't experience events from lack of matchmaking. Never could try V.o.G.
I feel very much cheated and abused as a customer. I bought (and regret doing so in retrospect) Destiny on launch day (bought also a season pass and a t-shirt as well) after the beta weekend on xbox 360 lead me (and many others) to believe this game would offer an exciting Co-Op... So far, only pvp seem prioritized, and privileged with FULL matchmaking. Many of us are cheated of events because coop play is undermined by a serious lack of the same privileges. In fact, I NEVER set foot in Vault of Glass because there is NO matchmaking for it, effectively restricting my access to ALL the game could offer me but just won't. This situation MUST be corrected if only to demonstrate Bungie values it's coop clients on the same level as the pvp ones. I pretty certain most coop players will agree, if only asked to, that we want the SAME SERVICE pvp players get. Are we coop players only second grade customers? Chopped liver?
PS: creating a clan doesn't help considering the myriads of "solo" clans in effect... everyone wants to lead or so it seems.

2 RepliesMatchmaking for all, even if only optional... or no matchmaking at all. That would be fair for every type of players... unless pvp elitists are too lazy to lfg themselves.

Changes to gameplay/example: PVP balance. 4. Lack of matchmaking to promote social, player interaction. Through all the changes that Destiny has been through and will continue to go through, these aspects have been retained. Like it or not, these are core design choices. My guess is, if you feel cheated by these systems, Destiny is not the game for you. Out of the countless times I have responded to ignorant, overly dramatic posts such as this, where I have said join my group or, friend me and I will help you through the vault of glass...I have never received a response(so I won't even waste time with that). It's insulting that you come here and talk about equality. From where I'm standing you have an equal opportunity to access content, you simply don't want to take the steps, which means that you want special treatment. Don't give me any BS about issues in your life stopping you from taking the extra time that it takes to form relationships with other players in the game. I am married, work a full-time job that requires a lot of time and attention, as well as write, record, and perform music. It will not break your life to consider others and help them complete content. When you are given matchmaking, then you will have access to content, that at some point we were on equal footing, where I spent hours of extra time helping someone in the nightfall strike, where I would receive no credit or helping a player level up from 27 to 32 for no benefit outside of maybe some glimmer. You don't want equality, you want special treatment. When you put the time in, players will remember it and hopefully reciprocate. When they do, you know that this is someone that you can play with, whether you acknowledge it or not, this is a huge part of the game. Because you have come here, and tried to make some sort of civil rights issue, and place me on the wrong side of it... I'm giving you no quarter... I hope to God that Bungie does answer your cry for matchmaking... Because the absolute elitist mess that will result from it, will be an adequate punishment for both your laziness and selfishness. It will also be entertaining to see all of the posts of people who entered the raid with no communication, who want the raid to be changed yet again to suit their level of play.

1 ReplyWe just believe that social connections in the game make the overall experience better. There are many good applications for matchmaking in Destiny. Our designers feel very strongly that endgame activities rely on a team that is acquainted with itself. Your feedback has been heard, so there's no telling how Destiny might change in the future. In the immediate term, I see a lot of people who are talking about a need for teammates. However, it is not that simple. At current, our philosophy about endgame content is that part of the challenge includes forming up a team. This is a strong community filled with players who are looking for teammates. Why not seek each other out here and band together? -Deej

3 RepliesOnce upon a time I had the same trouble finding a group to do raids with. But it really isn't that difficult to LFG a decent raid group together. I have a lot of guys on my friends list now that I met through LFG. But for God's sake, don't have raid matchmaking, you have no idea what you're asking for. The amount of guys out there that have no clue what they're doing or just come to troll and screw your run up is really high. No, you would instantly regret getting matchmade with a raid group. Yeah, it would get more people in there to try it, but 99% of matchmade groups wouldn't beat it.

You're not entitled to do everything in the game, you do however have the same opportunity as everyone else.

Pvp is matchmaking for both teams. The fact that you think it's unfair insane. I want raid matchmaking so I can join a Crota and summon the over soul

No experience needed, just a mic and willingness to listen. Personally I believe matchmaking would make a lot of raids that wouldn't get finished. Too many people without mics or assholes that jump into activities only to sit there and leave the work to others

Coop and Pvp in the same boat for a change. BAN it for all or make it so for all. That way NO ONE gets special treatments period. so far only pvp got their ponies and don't wanna share... god forbid coop get rights too according to pvper... maybe if they wouldn't have matchmaking it would be more fair?

1 ReplyEven tough I just joined a group and canceled the clan I tried to start to join theirs, I still feel matchmaking should be equally available to coop players as well as pvp players. Also much thanks for those supporting this post and particularly those who suggested The 100.io, much appreciated folks :)

Maybe coop players should all band together and demand matchmaking to be removed from pvp so they have to waste time on web lfg sites... since apparently it's very ok to them (after all they got matchmaking, why would they care?), maybe Bungie should remove matchmaking altogether period? They might sing a very different tune if that were to be the case.

The time it took to write this message you could have had a group for VOG from an lfg site. Not being rude at all, just saying. It's all about what your willing to put into this game what you get out of it. Just do a little more like join a good clan or use the lfg sites and you open up a lot of doors. That's what I had to do and it works.

2 RepliesUse one of the Destiny lfg sites. You'll find a group fast. If you were on XB1 I'd take you through myself. If you took me up on the offer, you'd be the first author of a thread such as this to do so.

8 RepliesAs others have said, an in game LFG system would work out best in the case of Destiny, at least in my opinion. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/120657959/0/0 Bungie should show what they're capable of and add Specialized LFG rooms to the tower. Allowing you to even look at your potential ally's equipment before you even group up. This would add to the tower, prevent afk matching, allow time for planning and organizing, etc.
