Honest oppinion on multiple exotics? Keep or shard?
I tell myself all the time... I cant wait to get to get a double up of an exotic weapon so i can shard it and put that shard to good use
But everytime i get a double up and even a tripple up ( gally, suros, mida multi tool, vex )
I just keep them and cant bring myself to dismantle them
Do i just equip one to every character?
Do i just dismantle all bar 1?
Do i keep 2 one for a character and vault the second for collective purposes
I just.... Dont know haha its actually frustrating
One thing ive noticed is everyone seems to keep multiple gjallarhorns and multiple icebreakers
Does anyone else think theres 22-25 exotics in game and we all rely on 2-3 mainly

There's a new app out that lets you immediately transfer gear from one character to the next. Makes sharing one exotic with multiple characters really easy. I would get the app and shard your duplicates. Those extra shards will come in handy next week when it's time to start ascending your exotics.

I shard duplicates of all exotic and raid weapons. I don't have a lot of play time so I don't want to spend my time lvling exotic weapons for each character. That's just me tho. Lots of people keep duplicates for other characters so they don't have to swap.

Anything you dont main or run often shard extras. If its something you run all the time put one on each character.

I dismantle my extras because I don't want to upgrade the gun again

The only thing I keep extras of are exotics in heavy use so I can have one on each character. I have 3 ice breakers and thunderlords. Will keep 3 gjallarhorns and 3 red death when i get them.

I usually shard my duplicates, only weapon I have a duplicate of is my Gjally. As I got my second one a week after I got my first. I have them both Maxed. Like people have said its so easy now to switch weapons between your characters with the app that there really is no need to have dups of them.

The only thing I keep multiples of are my 4 Gjallarhorn's. Anything twice I dismantle.

You need 3 IB...everything else is an opinion. I keep 3 IB, 3 vex, 3 PT, and 3 Thunderpoopers.

I've got a second Icebreaker that I keep forgetting about and need to shard. I think you only need one version. It's easy enough to swap weapons, especially now that you can do it on your computer or phone.

I always shard duplicate exotics. I only keep duplicates of legendaries where I am testing out different perk sets or have 2 with really desirable perks. Eg, a Felwinter's Lie on all characters (because Felwinter said SIT) 2 The Cures (1 has tracking, I has prox) etc.

1 ReplyI shard them. Call it ocd but I can't keep two of anything. With how easy it is to transfer with the companion app I don't see the point of keeping duplicates.

Kept 3 icebreakers and 3 ghorns. In legendary i kept 3 fatebringers and 3 vocs. Everything other duplicate pretty much gets sharded

2 RepliesWith the addition of the app feature to transfer stuff, I turned all my duplicate exotics into shards. Does anyone recall if exotic shards are worth a damn after the DLC? I've got 48 of them now (thanks to the great luck I have at finding erroneous amounts of NLBs,IBs, and Hard Lights).

I like an Icebreaker for each character. Generally 2 is my limit on the better exotics. There are quite a few that one is clearly enough. Depends on how much you like an exotic and how useful you find it. Sometimes I actually prefer each guardian to have different exotics.

I often debate what to keep and what not to. If I have room I keep it, for eventually in this game what's irrelavant becomes relavant down the line. I will have to clean house at one point but just not yet.

Depends on the exotics. Some are a must have category because of its utility - ice breaker - maybe ghorn Some are fun to have on certain characters but aren't needed: - everything else
