Honest oppinion on multiple exotics? Keep or shard?
I tell myself all the time... I cant wait to get to get a double up of an exotic weapon so i can shard it and put that shard to good use
But everytime i get a double up and even a tripple up ( gally, suros, mida multi tool, vex )
I just keep them and cant bring myself to dismantle them
Do i just equip one to every character?
Do i just dismantle all bar 1?
Do i keep 2 one for a character and vault the second for collective purposes
I just.... Dont know haha its actually frustrating
One thing ive noticed is everyone seems to keep multiple gjallarhorns and multiple icebreakers
Does anyone else think theres 22-25 exotics in game and we all rely on 2-3 mainly

It depends tbh, if you have the app you don't really need multiples as transferring between characters is just a few finger presses away. I'd say shard, after all, exotics are always being released and you never know when you need one ascended or even one completed

Depends on the exotic. Gjallarhorn? Keep 3. Ice breaker? 3. Plan C? Keep 1. Shard others

Icebreaker, Thunderlord, Gjallarhorn You only need one each of all other exotics. There are apps developed now (DIM, Ghosts) to help speed switching weapons between characters.

There a lot of nice apps that transfer items very efficiently between your characters now, like Destiny Item Manager on Chrome, Tower Ghost on IOS and Android, and Load outs on IOS. So, at this point the extra exotic shard is generally worth more than the couple of seconds you spend pressing a button to transfer your exotic over to another char.

I shard them, although I have a Suros I'm not sharding just to have the smart drift control and fast fire rate. I only keep the heavy hitters and weird ones in my vault for transfer purposes and try to have a couple exotic options on each character, that way they all get used and I don't forget about them. Like I have Suros, Red Death, Invective and Truth on my Titan because they fit the character in my mind. The exotics in my vault for transfer purposes are Thorn, Gjallarhorn, Thunderlord, Mida, Vex, Bad Juju, and Icebreaker. I have UR and NLB in there because I don't really know what to do with them lol. Suros that's not getting the focused fire perk and an unupgraded TLW are in there but I'm probably going to shard the extra TLW, I kind of want to have one TLW on my hunter and one in the vault for other characters.

I shard mythoclast bc I get one every run, but if it's something I use like Ice Breaker, I keep 2 or 3 and shard the rest.

2 RepliesI seriously don't understand why people have a stockpile of the same exotic weapon. There is no need for anyone to have 20 vexes or 15 Gjallarhorns. It's stupid. Break them down and get a stockpile of shards-- which are going to be more useful than 20 vex mythoclasts.

I just kept my favorite exotics as multiples one for each character. Hawkmoon, TLW, Suros, Vex, Icebreaker, and P&T currently working on Gjallarhorn

I think having more than 1 is a waste of a good shard, because you can swap between characters, and you dont use mats for a weapon you already have. If it DOES get swallowed up during item transfer, you probably were swapping them at the wrong time, like when something is loading in.

I keep 2-3 of the most useful ones, icebreaker ghorn and vex incase one gets lost in transfer when using the item manger

Most of them I shard, but I kept 3 vex Mythoclasts because it's my favourite gun in the game

I stay away from multiples so that my characters can have variety. I try and use all my guns. Collecting trophies seems a little pointless.

I keep multiples of the ones I often use. I have 3 Midas, Icebreakers and Mythoclasts. Once I get 2 more Jellys I'll be set :)

The only weapons I'd have 3 of for each character are: Icebreaker Ghorn Hawkmoon

I keep one. Easy to switch with the vault or apps. A case could be made for some of my favorites, but I've even shared doubles of some of those.

Shard I feel it's a waste not to just share your weapons since they allow us to but to each his own

I tend to keep one of the best ones on each character (e.g. Vex, Gjallarhorn, Icebreaker etc), then shard the multiples of weapons I don't use.

I mainly use g-horn because I'm lazy and it kills things faster, but I also use ice breaker, invective, thorn, thunderlord, or just a random one. Edit: Shard duplicates of guns you don't use often you'll need the shards to upgrade exotics to 365 when HoW releases.

I only have one character so I shard all the duplicate exotics I get. Looking at you Ice Breaker. Anyways lol, so I may end up regretting it if I ever decide to make more characters but I honestly don't plan on it as of now. Plus those shards are gonna be needed in HoW. Currently have 11 saved up.

I keep two Gjallarhorns. I've dismantled 2. Just in case u lose one on transfer. I had three Monte carlos.
