Sadly even though it not mentioned in game. Bungie has mentioned " postmaster is not intended for storage and only meant for recovering lost items and receiving items ex. packages or other items"
I knew this from day 1 of playing cause it says postmaster and not storage. Cause in like many MMOs I have played all mail/postmasters have always had limit storage/time.
Though I do believe the postmaster needs a message pop up for the first time you visit the postmaster, so new player don't fall for it like many other seem to be these days.

Deej has told us to hold on to those engrams because of the Cryptarch bug, which has created this problem. I was unaware of the limitations because they have never been posted. I have lost or appear to have lost two legendary engrams. The ridiculous amount of materials, ammo synth (which can't be deleted) and rare engrams that Deej said to hold onto has created a clusterphuk. All of this could have been avoided if Bungie had done the one thing they are unable or unwilling to do, Communicate with their customers.

Seems to me that no sooner did I get a particular weapon....than it was gone the next day. It's the details of how the postmaster works that are unclear. What about Reward Packages for doing the daily, Faction Reward Packages, Crucible and Vanguard reward packages ? Will those Reward Packages be deleted after X number of days ?
