No cutscenes in the story DLC...AGAIN
What the heck Bungie? Everything about this expansion seems great, I love what you're doing with ascending/rerolling, a new social space, new game modes, blah blah blah, but would it KILL you guys to at least make an effort to expand on the story?
I swear, if this game had a BUILT-IN story, it would be amazing. Yet Bungie keeps choosing to neglect it. Smh.

How do you know there aren't any cutscenes? We haven't even seen gameplay footage of the story missions yet...

5 RepliesIn Bungie's eyes, cutscenes would hurt the re playability of the mission. This is an RNG/grind centric game. I wouldn't be surprised if Destiny 2 had no story either. I'm probably just going to stop supporting this game after HoW drops.

Much of the story is written on the bounties. Just cause its not said or show directly to you doesnt mean its not there

You would THINK that after killing Crota, it'd be worth a cut scene (like the one after finishing the Black Garden, it serves to tie things together and give you a sense that there's a grander purpose at work than just 'killin things.' Yet, after defeating a god in his own netherworld, we return to the tower and no one gives a shit. Only Eris, "YOU will be REMEMBERED!." Truly the most anticlimactic finish to an expansion ever. Hell, even when Crota dies (like Atheon) they just become orange sparkles. The ghost never had a single line, Eris' dialogue was pathetic, and the story missions felt like moon patrol. When he says there is no story, there truly is NO STORY. I've read all the Grimoire and even those give short, cryptic riddles on what sorta kinda happened. Collapse? Traveller? Ghosts? Ah who cares, let's just go back to killing things, leave that story business to companies like Bethesda, Naughty Dog, and Rockstar.

Thank goodness they aren't wasting time on useless content. Story is a waste of time and adds nothing to replayability. Only awesome gameplay and great multiplayer can do that. This game has some of the best. More strikes More game modes More gear Screw the story. I'm here to have fun not read a book. Hopefully the Winds of Winter will be out in the next year or two. Then I will worry about story. If George try's to put non story content in that book then I will complain.

13 RepliesIf you need a game to have a cutscene to tell you teh story all the time you are lazy. not every game has to or needs to tell the story in the traditional manner that other games did with cutscenes every few minutes or at teh beginning/middle/end of each mission....
