Communism vs Capitalism vs Socialism. Which has more benefits to the population as a whole?

Just wanted to see the communities thoughts on the matter, as I feel very strongly about this issue. EDIT: Forgot to include Socialism in original post EDIT 2: This is referring to Humanity as a whole, and if each system was implemented on a global scale

I think that communism is actually an almost good idea. Restriction and equality is good but there is too much of it. There needs to be a form of government like communism where everyone starts out the same but can progress in any direction. MY EXPLANATION Something that Karl Marx understood was that everyone is actually not equal as far as ability, social status, and wealth goes. This makes it impossible for everyone to achieve the same things. So communism levels the playing field where everyone has the same equal opportunities so that everyone is capable of achieving the same things. There is no poor that can't accomplish what the rich can. However along with this ideology there is a restriction on what everyone can accomplish. This is bad because it makes everything dull because you know that there is a limit and if everyone is hitting it then no one is achieving greatness. MY IDEAL GOVERNMENT/SOCIETY Its kind of a mix of Communism and Capitalism that creates a productive society. In order for it to work the country must be sectioned off. Everyone is born into the country wherever they are. Once they reach the age of understanding (18 because you can weigh out decisions and know what your interests are by then) they are taken to live in a separate society where everything is equal. They will all be given the same opportunities and provided the same resources as others. Here they will choose and learn about what they want to become so that they can become a productive member of society. However choices are limited but are still options for later. If the society doesn't have enough of one type of workers then society will be in need of these people. Other popular career options will not be available initially but you will be able to pursue these options once you have graduated in a required field and have participated in that career for a minimum of 1 year. After graduating from this place of equality you are set free into the outside world to do as you want as long as you are pursuing your career job along the way. So you will get the equal opportunities at a certain age that will direct you in the same path as everyone who chooses your path but since you are released into a capitalist environment you can expand it in which ever way you desire. Of course this form of government is completed or full proof (yet) but you can get the just of what I am aiming for. EXAMPLE It would be like living in America until you are 18 then you are sent to Russia to get an education of your choosing and then being sent back to America to use your education to contribute to society while also pursuing things that you want.

      • It's difficult to answer logically because I believe the wildcard in this scenario is the development of technology and how it affects the market. For the first time in history, we truly live in a world where human labour means nothing given that a company can just outsource it to automation. We already see this with self-checkout lines at grocery stores and the like. Automation scares me. I try to avoid it as much as possible. Yet at the same time, technology is also inevitable. Automation is only going to get worse as technology improves and capitalists, guided by the principle of saving money, continue to have an incentive to automatize. People are going to be out of jobs. The demand for human labour is going to be too low for the huge population of humans. The capitalistic standard of human labour as the unit for value is going to need to be dropped, as ironically capitalism will bring about its own demise with automation. We may seriously need to consider distributing resources off of a different standard than human labour since human labour will no longer be valuable enough or widespread enough. The communists may see this as their final vindication that they were right and we should now distribute things based on need, but I disagree because that will only enable the population to grow too much until our Earth cannot sustain it. Socialism, or "controlled capitalism" as I like to call it, might be the best solution. Certainly the only feasible one I can see. We need to keep large corporations in check so that they do not destroy our Earth, economy, and/or ruin things with mindless automation. But at the same time, I believe that we need to preserve the work ethic and incentive for the entrepreneurship of capitalism. As a Republican myself aware of how much my party hates to admit it, environmentalism in particular may be something humanity would want to more widely consider in the future given that our population is growing and our Earth can only produce so many resources over a certain period of time. I like hunting and fishing. If we don't preserve our environment, we can't do that any longer. Remember it was Nixon, a Republican, who started the EPA, and Teddy Roosevelt, another Republican, who did more conservation work than any president in history.
