3rd Subclasses: Void Hunter, Arc Warlock, Solar Titan

Seen a few suggestion posts for different new subclass types lately. I'm not sure how likely it is that third subclasses will be added to the game, but it seems logical to me that they would be in the works to fill out our element selections. There have been numerous posts about the void hunter subclass, everything from the "void blade" (sorry to that poster, but that whole suggestion was just blade blade blade and more blade) to the alleged "trapper" that was supposedly leaked. These ideas aside, I decided to take a look at what each subclass offers to see what exactly a third hunter subclass should be. Currently, we have the following roles provided by each subclass: Titan - Striker: A close combat subclass. Titan - Defender: A defensive, group-supporting subclass. Warlock - Voidwalker: A high damage ranged subclass. Warlock - Sunsinger: A defensive, group-supporting subclass. Hunter - Gunslinger: A high damage ranged subclass. Hunter - Bladedancer: A close combat subclass. It's pretty clear that, of the six subclasses, there are three types of roles meant to be filled: Close combat (Striker/Bladedancer), Ranged Damage (Voidwalker/Gunslinger), and Defense&Support (Defender/Sunsinger). Going by that setup, it would make sense to me that the next Titan subclass will be a solar ranged damage dealer, the next Warlock subclass will be an arc-based Close Combat setup, and the next Hunter subclass will be a Defensive, group support oriented subclass. Bungie sure loves to do things by the 3's. I posted some time ago with the Voidseeker hunter subclass, but now I've got all 3 fleshed out and it's time to put them in one place. Because bungie's forums only allow limited length posts, I'll make each subclass it's own thread, and link them all here. There are a few new things I've done with these, including making each of the new subclasses use an entirely new style of grenades (bombs for the hunter, nets/webs for the warlock, and drones for the titan). [b][u]Titan Solar Subclass: The Crusader[/u][/b] The Crusader fills the role of the ranged, damage-dealing titan, complimenting the utility and support based defender and the melee based striker. The crusader's super fires a long range beam of solar light, incinerating enemies in its path. Crusaders utilize drones instead of grenades, which are limited duration hovering robots that seek out and attack enemies with weapons fire. The crusader's unique movement perk, levitate, allows him to hover in the air for a short period while firing at enemies, safe from melee retaliation. Crusaders also get bonuses to weapon damage to enhance ranged combat ability. [b]Link to the Crusader Skill Trees:[/b] https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/120447928 [b][u]Hunter Void Subclass: the Voidseeker[/u][/b] The Voidseeker fills the role of a utility/support hunter, geared towards teamplay as opposed to the heavily damage-based gunslinger and bladedancer. The Voidseeker's super creates a well of void energy that hinders and damages enemies. The Bombs utilized by voidseekers have a short throwing distance and take some time to arm, but have powerful detonating effects. The Voidseeker's unique movement is a rocket boost that allows for extremely fast horizontal travel at the cost of jumping height. Voidseekers have numerous perks to allow for additional orb generation as well, and utilize shields to boost their defense. The Archon's super bathes them in a storm of arc energy, blasting out lightning at any enemies that get within melee range. The Archon's grenades, called nets or webs, create lasting ground-based effects which can hinder and debilitate enemies. The Archon's unique movement perk, phaseshift, grants them damage resistance via an overshield while airborn, allowing them to safely traverse a battlefield with glide. Archons have several bonuses to melee damage and damage resistance, allowing them to survive the close quarters combat they're designed for.           • I want the Hunter super to slow time in the given area, while allowing teammates and him/herself to move faster than usual.

          • The warlock and hunter classes seem a little bit op. Giagantic void of doom that practically immobilizes enemies and invincible one hit melee attacks with the "encore" perk. The Titan has needs a little bit more love than just a solar beam super. Possibly a new super for the Titan could have to do something with a Phoenix for solar damage and embraces the Titans brute strength. I would create a super called "The Phoenix Rises". This super would create a giant Phoenix around the Titan and giving the Titan a melee slam that releases a ring of fire around the Phoenix. Also, the Titan would gain a ranged fire blast attack that incinerated any enemies. This seems a little bit op so to balance it out the Titan would be levitated inside the Phoenix causing it to be vulnerable. This is just a rough idea of what I think could be the start of a very cool Titan subclass.

            • I feel like the warlock void would be more or less like he runs into a group of enemies and you tap the super button and he spins in a circle showering down arc bolts that can travel from enemy to enemy

            • ok. I hate when people do this. Bungie has clearly set up boundaries that you people continue to break. 1: each class only gets one non-grenade-like grenade, the last one they unlock. The supers do not modify the ground or physical dynamics around their effect radius except for visual effects. A laser beam for a main attack is just a NO for this game. Melee attacks are called MELEE for a reason (except for throwing knife, which utilizes the actually physical possibility of a hunter throwing their knife). Also all of these sound just lame to use and would give the game to much of a god-mode feel, which is not what this game goes for. this game goes for chaotic encounters that a player cannot just "shoot a laser beam" to get out of.

            • I don't think Bungie would name a Hunter void class Voidseeker. Too similar to Voidwalker and many people would confuse the names.

              • I think the Warlock and the Titan both need a super kind of like the Hunter supers, whereas it has a useless animation that you're completely helpless during, no shielding so that you die quickly, and it is only capable of killing 1 target at a time.

                  Disregard my post, I missed the obvious that this thread is clearly PVE oriented and not PVP. Sunsinger, a defensive supporting class? I don't think so. Players are just using the class "incorrectly". I believe they are meant to be "tanks" in both defense and attack in pvp. Scorch melee overshield + damage reduction = "unstoppable". Here's some sunsinger tips: 1.Use Flame shield for more health. 2.Use Radiant skin for better survivability. 3.Don't activate Fireborn the moment after you die unless you have your melee fully charged or the game is on the line. 4. Don't Activate your super if your melee is not fully charged unless the game is on the line. 5. Always try to get a melee off (charged) while in radiance as soon as possible to survive much longer. 6. If using fire bolt grenades, just run around and throw them near people and melee regardless of charge (HoPF helps). 7. Utilize shotgun + melee combo or fire bolt + primary if your good at it for the maximum amount of kills while your in radiance.
