[b]Before you read[/b] [u]I do know how to counter thorn and last word users, but not everyone does.[/u][b]This is fact[/b] I made this post to give bungie ideas on exotic balance. As we know the thorn and last word are the most annoying guns in pvp at the moment. What I mean is both guns are constantly complained about on the forums. After using both a decent amount of time in pvp I've came up with solutions. I'll start with thorn. [b]Thorn[/b]: This gun was actually good when it came out, it just needed a reload buff. [b]Solution 1[/b]: Bring thorns magazine back to 6. (Increase reload if you have to.) As a gun that requires no more than 3 shots for a kill, you rarely need to empty the whole magazine. (Unless you're bad at pvp) 6 in magazine doesn't seem like much of a difference. Also final round. [b]Solution 2[/b]: Antidote patch. [b]Pve friendly[/b] Let's say you are fighting a thorn user and he burns you. If you happen to kill the thorn user before he kills you, the burn damage should die with the player. Meaning if you get quicky 2 shot by thorn but still killed the user. The burn damage should [b]not[/b] continue. [b]Solution 3[/b] Not my idea. Only thorns precision shots burn. Or body shots burn only a 3rd of its normal burn time. [b]The last word[/b] I used to hate this gun until I used it a lot myself. Now I hate it more because I'm good with it. [b] Also there is a glitch that should be patched. [/b] [b]Solution 1[/b]: [b]pve friendly[/b] Remove perfect balance. Perfect balance seems to only affect the gun when you aim down sights while holding down the trigger. But not hip fire. Most smart last word users know that the gun destroys when shot from the hip using high caliber rounds. Doesn't feel any different than when using perfect balance. If a player is out of hip firing range. Then it's fine to ads, but tap the button instead of holding it down. [b]Solution 2[/b]: [b]pve friendly[/b] Decrease last word accuracy when ads. Remove fan fire when aiming. [b]Solution 3[/b]: harsh patch Change last word magazine size to 6 in magazine but max the reload speed. After using last word I realized. When tapping the trigger I rarely ever use more than 4 shots for a kill. But when trigger is held down I waste about 7 shots before kill is registered. All of these solutions above would not ruin the 2 guns for skilled players. Players that abuse these 2 guns because they aren't quite good at pvp can just use a vex or get used to minor changes. Comment "bump" if you agree on solutions. Comment if you disagree on a certain solution or if you have your own ideas. [b] If you have less than 700k medal score. I will not argue with you. [/b] [b]Why?[/b] [b]medal score= playtime[/b] [b]If you try to defend a gun with little pvp time. Why should I care to read? Obviously an inexperienced player is going to say a gun isn't overpowered. [/b] It seems most players around the 1m medal score mark are agreeing with at least 1-3 of the solutions. While all the players with very little medal score are giving hate. This definitely says something. [b]Before you get butthurt[/b] I don't think I'm better than anyone here. My kd is less than 2.0. Though I'll gladly see someone in rumble. Medalscore is playtime. I want opinions from players that spend alot of time in pvp. I don't want to argue with someone that barely plays pvp. Think about it like this. Who would you trust more? Someone with 5 raid completions or someone with 400?
