  • Invisibility really isn't necessary, when you get on the rock and call for rockets jump up the second you see the first rocket fly past, his shield should go down just as you reach him. Hit him with 2 "R1" attacks as he begins kneeling then 2 "R2"s, then turn and jump and use the sword attack mid jump to fly back to the rock. Turn around when you land on the rock and have everyone fire rockets when he turns green again, then do the same as before. When you finish the second combo turn and "sword fly" off the platform back towards the crystal room.

  • Did it yesterday for the first time. Just don't be too ambitious. Start off with two hits and build up to three, then run. You will think you are safe but he can kill you from quite a distance. You will get glitches. He jumped of the platform to the ground, killed me then teleported right. Move on, try again. Communication is key. Tell the team when to fire and get to him as he goes down. You can't wait till he's down to jump up. You can use rockets to take the sword bearer down as you don't need them for Crota. Really, getting the sword bearer down quick is really important. Hopefully you will have a patient team. Mine was all randoms but I was lucky. Still only took 4 attempts though. Kill Crota, get loot, feel euphoric. Seriously it feels good!

  • Practice on normal, and just start with simply doing three slams each down. After the third slam press Triangle(or Y for xbox) to drop the sword then immediately melee to turn invis. Do not get cocky with going for more hits until you get a feel for how much time you really have. It's easiest with the Hunter, but that doesn't mean the other classes can't do it

        • Go invisible before you jump up. Know what kind of firepower is going to be shooting at Crota. He starts to take damage from the sword while he is still on his feet.

Get a solid team who won't hate you for doing something wrong. Call out which side you are approaching crota from: Left or Right. <Crouch on the rock to go invisible.> Hunters Tell your team to shoot whilst jumping up to crota or whilst you are stood next to him. Look up at his shield or get someone else to tell you to swing, before he is actually down but will go down. 3xRT.. You can build on this with practice to eventually get 1 slash and 4xRT, one of the best damage combos. <Drop the sword and press your right bumper to knife crota and go invisible.> Hunters Wait 3 seconds then tell them to shoot again. 3xRT again then jump out the way but make sure not to go in the direction crota will rotate or you're dead. Do it again

depends on class but the most simple strat/safest is Get up RT x3, run away or Blink, then 3 RT again. with level 32 its always a 2 sword kill on normal. Cmon mistakes swordbearer do is wait til team kills the swordbearer. its your job to go down there and kill the mofo or at-least lure him out . ( i usually just heavy him or black hammer). it is important to kill that foo as fast as possible lol.

          • Jump on, spam RT, run away, repeat. That's literally it.

          • Use your rockets on the swordbearer. He needs to go down fast and since you won't need them for downing Crota, if you have rockets, it's good to fire one or two his way. Once you have picked up the sword, there are two rocks - one on each side of Crota's platform. They are your best friends. If you're doing middle strategy, going right is the norm... so you go, jump on that rock, and call out for rockets. I usually go, "1, 2" and then jump, but until you get the timing down just wait until the rockets enter your screen. The simplest combo to go for is three heavy slams per down - be sure to push the movement stick forward, it makes you slam faster - (RT on Xbox, not sure about Playstation), drop the sword and melee (blink strike for invisibility) but don't wait until the sword-dropping animation is done, just tap the button a couple times and hit the button for melee; it'll do it. Once you're invisible, pick up the sword and watch Crota. Once he is no longer orange call for rockets again, and hit him three times again when he's down. On Normal mode, if you're level 32, this will kill him in two swords. If you're on Hard mode, it will kill him in three (with him enraging after the first down on the third sword).

          • Jump on the rock, look towards crota, call DPS, soon as rockets enter your screen jump up and run towards him. Should be perfect timing and you should be able to get at least 4 slams before he gets up, get your hits in, double jump and swing back towards the rock. Repeat. Don't use invis if you run on other classes too, it'll only handicap you and make it harder when you switch. I speak from experience, in fact even after deleting my Titan and warlock i still run strictly gunslinger.
