And the guy in the vid speaks the language and is not a computer, how can you argue with a man who speaks the language when you do not?
-
Edited by madmonkey01: 5/8/2015 7:31:34 AMhow do you know that i do not speak the language? it seems there is more than one way to pronounce it due to regional dialect. there guy in the video was from Iceland, things are pronounced differently. the gjallarhorn is supposed be norse
-
So are you saying you do speak the language?
-
just to add i tend to refer to it as gallarhorn in game anyway.
-
not 100% fluently, but i get the gist of danish, but it is subtlety different to other Norse languages, which probably explains why there are so many different ways people pronounce it.
-
Get the gist, so no then
-
i will rephrase, not fluently i am not danish, but competent enough. to know it. as i already said different norse languages pronounce it differently, so your way is right in Icelandic, my way is right in danish.
-
Yes I understand that but if the word is truly Icelandic as the guy States then the proper way to pronounce it is the Icelandic way not the Danish way. And that right there is fact. All these arguments stem from people being elitist about how to pronounce a word and if you want to be elitist then the true way is the Icelandic way not Danish. As I said in my original post I don't really care how people say it I don't say it right I still say gal a horn I'm just sick of seeing these shit posts time and time again about the same thing.
