Posted by: CLP99th
Posted by: Kilr828 Agreed A little off topic, but who noticed that the soldier with Johnson and the Arbiter in the first cutscene in halo 3 (the one that does the computer check on the "dead" master chief) is an ODST soldier??
I did notice that but that could just be an ODST from the Landfall video you know?
hes just a field medic, we cant go around picking at every ODST in the game's saying ITS HIM
Posted by: Jack23june
Posted by: Kilr828 Gravemind did use the portal, and most of his forces did go to the ARC, but since its not explained, i don't think bungie is gonna pass up the opportunity to play out "Earth's last stand" against the flood
me either, plus, this way i get my warthog level where your trying to escape from an onslaught of flood forums, chasing you all over a city to a base about 20 minutes away (classic halo)
HELLZ YEAH!!!
Posted by: Jack23june
Posted by: CLP99th I think the Gravemind was too concerned with what secrets could be on the Ark so he bipassed earth alltogether...
the ark is outside the milkyway, i dont think he could have got there as fast as he did without the portal
By bipassed I mean passed into earths atmosphere only to get through the portal... I mean he could have dropped some pods on earth as he passed but other than that...
Posted by: Kilr828
Posted by: Jack23june
Posted by: Kilr828 Well in response to the Flood being in Halo Wars, if your up to date on the flood, the covenant first found the flood on an ancient forerunner structure in a small amount thousands of years before they discovered halo, and for thousands of years, the convenant had very small arms battles with the flood (although never on the large scale as the forerunners). It wasn't like the flood was first broken out in Halo CE, they were in the universe, and it distant earth colonists have made contact with the flood in small amount (they usually were killed before they could relay info back to earth) so flood in halo wars is perfectally fine. BUT... the flood had never gone within a range of earth until halo 3 when gravemind found Earth's location from cortana
we know that, but we think that the campaigne will last into the halo 3 campaign, and personly i thik it will run to the end of the halo 3 campaign, being the flood will find earth about 2/3's into the game, but this is our idea, only bungie know for sure, and they wont tell, its to big of a plot line to reveal
Actually, that does make sense I mean, what actually did happen on Earth while master cheif left to go to the Arc What happened to Earth's Epic last stand!!!??? i bet the ODST plays a HUGE part in that in Recon
I think the Gravemind was too concerned with what secrets could be on the Ark so he bipassed earth alltogether...
Posted by: Jack23june i would like someone who believes the flood cant be in recon to tell me when the story for recon finishes, and explain why you think it will finish before the events in halo 3
Same, most people who have said that have not read the ground breaking post that let all of us believe "it could happen"...

Well they could have the flood in Halo 3 Recon, but they'd have to make you play all the way up until the gateway to the arc opens up (which is totally possible) [Edited on 10.11.2008 8:39 PM PDT]

The Flood didn't arrive on Earth until shortly after the portal to the Ark was activated during the events of Halo 3. Halo 3: Recon, which occurs on Earth and before Halo 3, cannot include the Flood without breaking continuity. This isn't a debatable topic. [Edited on 10.11.2008 8:38 PM PDT]
