Iron Banner isn't Fun Anymore

I've participated in most of the Iron Banner events and I am at the point that I hate IB. IB has become not a test of skill, but a test of who has the best "weapons of the patch". Last IB, if you didn't use the Red Death, you got boned. This time, if you don't use the Thorn, or another hand cannon, then expect to die often in 1v1. The other issue with this is that I do solo and PvP but that gear from that doesn't compare to raid gear. Make solo missions with the raid equivalent difficulty and rewards. Do the same with PvP. I am having other issues that I haven't had before: enemy shotguns with long range and one-hit-kills from long range, enemy survives blasts to the face with fusion rifles at close ranges, and fully charge melee hits not killing the target. I have noticed that I do not enjoy IB anymore and, furthermore, I don't even enjoy it when my team is winning. During the last IB, I felt the same way until I switched to the Red Death, then I enjoyed myself. This time I am not switching. I am tired of the "balancing" patches that buff one weapon type and the nerf everything else. Obviously I need to clarify. Based on the comments this post has received, I can tell I wasn't clear in what I was trying to say. My issue isn't with any particular weapon or weapon type but, rather, the the lack of consistency and the drastic changes from patch to patch and the effect this inconsistency and imbalance has had on my enjoyment of the IB. My skill as a player is irrelevant as when I was more inexperienced, and performing horribly in IB, I still enjoyed playing. As a developer, feedback on UX is invaluable. If your product provides poor UX, then people will use another product. Their goal should be to maximize participants in all game modes. If you disagree, that is your prerogative.

 • I agree. Bungie tries so hard to make people use different guns that each patch makes the game play different and after Xur shows up on the weekends and takes the fun out of grinding, everyone suddenly has the same gun. May as well go play Halo, at least its more enjoyable.. This is what happens when a game is rushed out the door. If Bungie took more time to test the game, even if it came out late, it would be good. They pushed it while it was under-developed and its now forever going to be a shitty game. People form opinions and that's what bungie is forgetting. They think they can just throw another patch or expansion pack at us and all will be well.. Not so my friend, not so..
