While watching the PoE reveal I started to think of uses for having a hunter in my fireteam. Much like VoG, there isn't really a good reason to have one with you. I would much rather have a Titan or Warlock by my side. So what are your thoughts?

They can revive, capture points, and have golden gun crowd control. Not useless and will definitely have their niche.
-
I'm typically a golden gun hunter but for the PoE I am going with blade dancing only because of invis
-
Bladedancer with Don't Touch Me gauntlets will be a revive machine. Don't count em out. I was already thinking this with a sunsinger and a defender Titan with Saint 14 helm would be a pretty sick fireteam.

The hunters best contribution to team play is being a medic when someone dies in a bad spot. As it seems you cannot stay in one spot very long the cloak ability might be tricky to use so either escape artist or vanish is the best bet. The terrain and how the enemies seemed to move during the stream suggest to me that gunslinger will not be the best choice because it's best pve perks for its super, keyhole and combustion will be limited in effectiveness, as the enemies seem to not tightly group and swarm from all directions rather than a straight line. Once more people play it though we will have a better understanding.

Hunters make the best medics because of their ability to go invisible along with the "don't touch me" gauntlets they will be a force most welcome in my PoE fire team.
-
They are equal...I need someone who can go invisible and pick my @$$ up after I die :p -A Titan

6 RepliesStart of CE is pretty much a horde mode and what class is the most useful?
enough said
-
It is called wait and see. Once everyone gets a chance to actually play it, then the class advantages / disadvantages will become apparent. So far though I have seen how all 3 characters can potentially shine in this. My hunter was the last character I made and I have found alot more utility in him than I thought I would.
-
No... They can go invis to defuse bombs.
-
2 RepliesHunters oh hunters <3 It takes 6-7 seconds to disarm the bomb (solo) Crouch invis with shadow jack=10 seconds Stab invis = 10 seconds Bladedancing invis= 12seconds (can be used twice) Nuff said or more?
-
I'm sure it will be the same as it always is... Me reviving the Warlock and Titan from the grave...
-
2 RepliesIf a bladedancer runs the stealth build, he could sneakily disarm the mines, and pull clutch revives. I am class neutral, I have three of every character... Every class will be great, and they will have their pros and cons
-
4 RepliesIf you don't think hunter's are useful in VoG, you need to play with better Hunters. Broman played badly with his hunter. With how he was playing, he should have been a Gunslinger. He would've had more success.
-
6 RepliesEdited by Vertycal: 5/7/2015 5:00:51 PMI feel that titans will be the strongest, whereas warlocks will be the weakest, hunters will be the OBJ player, the ability to go invisible will play a huge part in the prison of elders, posing the ability to perform objective work, and revives relatively safely, titans will be able to pop a bubble on objectives, as well as for distraction and buffs, as well as revives, warlocks have no real benefit, self res isn't really too useful, radiant skin would be the best choice on a sunsinger, Voidwalker is going to be a better choice more than likely for a warlock.
-
Im rolling with a titan (myself) and 2 warlocks or 1 warlock and another titan so if hunters are better that sucks for me
-
Crouch go invisible A mine disabled Blink strike go invisible B mine disabled Activate super use vanish c mine disabled Your welcome.........
-
I'll be rolling with 1 Titan 1 Warlock 1 Titan
-
2 RepliesWell, when you compair what you're saying and from watching the stream. The Warlocks self-res is the most useless of them all. It was the only super that didn't help at all.
-
I think Gunslinger will be terrible in PoE, Bladedancer has plenty if utility in invisibility to be quite useful.
-
Hunters will be beast at disarming the bombs or whatever they are called with invisibility. As usual, I think a team of mixed classes will prove to be the best bet. Titan bubble to distract enemies while hunter disarms FTW
-
MEDIC!!!! We need a MEDIC! Dude we didnt bring a hunter... *darkness consumed you* Hunter invise will be awesome for picking up teammates and gold gun is great mixed with alpha lupi for spawning orbs and a lot of them. I will be using all three classes in my grpup for prison having all the classes will be very effective imo.
-
-blam!-ing hate people like you hunters can do anything they can we shoot we we jump and we can generate orbs not as much but some so -blam!- u
-
I don't think hunters are useless no in the least I just don't think their m ore useful than a titan and warlock.
-
Invisibility will be huge in revives and disarming mines... along with generating orbs for the team for supers and health pick ups...
-
Confined area with lots of mobs spawning and you don't think a hit and run technique will be useful?
-
Every class has its pros and cons and will alway be useful is some way.
