“What about those Crucible changes?”
Shortly before the hunt for the House of Wolves begins on May 19th, all players will download Update 1.2.0 for Destiny. It will be another evolution for the experience you know. Check out this preview of some of the details we released this week, as compiled with Senior Crucible Designer Derek Carroll:
The spawn locking issue currently affecting Iron Banner will be fixed
Legendary items will be added to post-game reward tables for all Crucible activities
Your first match in the daily featured Crucible activity will earn you a new reward package each day
Reputation and Mark gains will double for each completed Crucible match
Etheric Light will become available for acquisition from Lord Saladin upon reaching Rank 3 and Rank 5 in Iron Banner
And, finally, these maps from The Dark Below will become the domain of all and be added to the standard rotation for select playlists:

It is always nice that they fix something for Iron Banner, like "the spawn locking issue", a couple of days after Iron Banner ends..

Better than [b]during[/b] the banner. People already complained about the 8 hours lost when they delayed the start.

I don't get the etheric light part. You can buy it when you reach rank 3 and 5? So you can't when you reach rank 4? Or are they trying to say they give you some at 3 and again at 5?

yeah I agree ambiguous to throw that out there lol. I believe, just like the IB weapon reward drops in rank 3 you'll see them drop and will be able to purchase it at rank 5.

Maybe it means at rank 3 there is a chance to drop and at rank 5 you can buy it from salad head? That is the only way I can see why they put 2 ranks that are odd.

It could be a possible post-game drop after you reach Rank 3, like the Iron Banner weapons. But the wording they use (which they've changed, but not made any clearer) is very ambiguous.

It might be like a 1 time purchase item for each rank

Never mind I misread. You now get a reward package for the daily crucible. I'm not sure but it says available for acquisition so I would assume its available for purchase.

Yeah that word was throwing me off. Seems like if it was straight up buying they'd say purchase. And the way they say at 3 and 5. The package does make the most sense for the wording though.

When yo reach rank 3 or 5 the post master has a chance to give you one

no, reaching certain ranks in events heightens adds more drops to the loot table you're given. ie; Queens Wrath Ship wouldn't drop till you were a high rank, ie; legendary weapons drop in IB at around rank 3 and above. therefor it'll drop as a reward in iron banner now (etheric light)

No it drops from packages, with your theory it will not drop at rank 4 only 3 and 5 which is stupid.

Not being able to spawn after pressing the button 4 million times was probably the worst thing in crucible for me.
